Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Edmonton

I live in an older neighbourhood and had been in my house for over 5 years. I thought it would be prudent to get the main sewer line checked and cleaned out. This was preventative maintenance only - we did not have any plumbing issues we were aware of. They came and did the full meal deal jetter cleaning for $1188. I saw the camera scope and it was clean. Thought it was a lot of money but we had peace of mind.
Less than 6 months later, my drain is plugged. Accidentally called another company with a similar name. He said this should still be under warranty since it was done so recently and that i should call back the company who did it. He was very professional and charged me NOTHING even though he had hauled in all of his equipment to clean out the line. He quoted me $395 to clean it out. Standing sewage in the line. He left but i thought i was doing the right thing.
A very young inexperienced contractor (less than two months on the job) shows up and had no authority to negotiate the price or discuss the warranty with me. He said he could not honour any warranty of the other worker because he was no longer with the company. He refused to start the work until I agreed to pay $497 total. I was trapped because i had clogged drains and water coming into my basement on the weekend.
He encouraged me to call the company to see if they could reduce the price on Monday.
I call Monday. They refuse to change offer any discount for any reason, either to match the other company or to honour the fact that i was a recent repeat customer. They also said that the worker was on commission and they did not want to take money away from him. What is that?!?!? I asked the company to cover the $80 difference, not the contractor. Either they stand behind their contract employees and the work they do or they don't. They obviously don't. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR USE THEM AGAIN for any reason.
