New light grey eavestroughs and soffits to go with the roof
We think our new, light grey roof is cool, literally and esthetically, but the effect of also changing the eaves, soffits and downpipes for ones of a complimentary colour has been transformational for this 35 year old house. We now have gutter guards, too, which help to deal with the leaves from the maple and oak trees in the backyard. The old dark brown trim made the house look dated, and with the old dark brown shingles the second floor was always hotter in the summer than the first: as I write this it is 33C in the shade, and the house is comfortable everywhere. I think the roof guys did a good job, but the two guys who created and installed the eaves, soffits and downpipes were artisans: it was almost magical watching 10M long sections of eaves troughs (25% wider than what used to be here) being extruded out of the back of a 7M long truck! I should mention that Todd, our salesman, suggested that the downpipe at the front of the house, which used to form a skating rink over my driveway in the winter, could be moved to the other side of the front door, emptying into the garden instead - and it works to move the water sideways, even in a heavy rain. The work that Roof Pro Plus did here is awesome!
