We hired Rene and his team – Ale, Diego and David – to finish our 600 sq. ft. basement from scratch and we are very happy with the result.
He was timely and courteous with the quote and the estimate was reasonable, not too high not too low. He gave suggestions about the layout, materials and other things. You can tell he has done that for many years.
He and his team are fantastic guys. All very polite and open to suggestions and requests. We felt very comfortable to work with them. He accommodated a few changes along the project even though that caused some delay.
As someone mentioned, his quote includes all materials - flooring, painting, faucets, etc. - which are quality brands but basic. If you want brushed nickel faucets, for example, you must buy it yourself and he will gladly install them. Sub-flooring was also extra. So be prepared to spend a 5-10% more on niceties.
Speaking of niceties, we went a little overboard with the “niceties”, that includes in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and wiring (HDMI 2.0, Optical, USB3.0, CAT6, to name a few) in the Home Theater and in the office. I did the cabling myself, Rene & team placed the boxes, studs and drywall. Finally he installed a nice stone veneer on the wall (extra cost).
The project completion took 7 weeks but the wait was worth it. We are very happy with the new basement and can sure recommend Royal Basements.
