2015-2020: Shingles falling / leaking flat roof
I really don't know where to begin with this review. I understand now that Mike Elliot has closed up his failing roofing business since 2016 and it is very clear why.
We had our roof installed in JULY 2015 (2.5 storey house) including a torch-down flat roof on our garage and dormer facing the backyard.
He recommended a metal roof but we went with the good quality CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles. We placed our trust in MIke and his crew Victor but sadly that was broken thanks to the shoddy workmanship.
We have had over 6 repairs done since MAY 2016. Unfortunately, we had to contact this out to another company (much more reputable).
Mike and Victor failed to respond to our emails and phone calls. We only heard from Victor 3 months after the first incident and he continued to state that the shingles were defective. He was wrong. We contacted a representative from CertainTeed and had the shingles tested. He indicated that the shingles were nailed too high. Fast forward to 2020 and we are currently quoting out to have our entire roof re-installed.
I felt it was important to post this review in the hopes that if he re-opens a roofing business under another name, it will protect clients from experiencing the same as we did. This by far the biggest error we made hiring a contractor to do work on our house.
