In -10 degrees winter, we had no heat. We called in another company to fix the problem and was told there was water in our internal motor, and the venting was not up-to-date. We were stuck with a B tag, and if we did not update our venting, Enbridge would come shut us off. After some research on homestars, we decided to call Reliable. Rob came and replaced our venting at a lower cost. A few days later, we had no heat again, so we called back Reliable. Darryl came, had another look, and explained everything clearly. He told us our motor was starting to fail, got our heat to work again, and gave us the option to 1) replace the motor, or 2) replace our furnace. Given the age of our furnace, and after asking Darryl many questions via the phone, we decided to replace our furnace to an ENERGY STAR 96% AFUE furnace and install a central humidifier (since our house is so dry). Darryl and Rob came, was very professional, put drop sheets down to protect our floors, and cleaned everything up afterwards. Furnace is now working smoothly so far. I will be calling them again for future work and recommending to friends. One thing that was a bit odd: we had confirmed with Darryl that we would be getting a new humidifier over the phone, but on site, Rob said he was going to re-use our existing humidifier. In order to avoid confusion, I would recommend re-confirming any changes to the quote in writing before they commence work.
