Our 19 year-old Heil furnace stopped working just a few days ago. I have a service contract with Direct Energy, so I called them first. The technician arrived pretty quickly. He got the furnace running temporarily, but asked me to promise that I would get the furnace replaced as soon as possible. I looked at Homestars reviews and called 3 HVAC companies for estimates, including Direct Energy and Reliable Home Comfort. I was impressed with the professionalism of all three estimators, who all showed up promptly and answered our questions fully, but Darryl and Reliable won the day.
Jamie and Peter arrived the next morning and got to work. Our 55-year old home has no basement - the furnace is located in a main floor utility room. When Jamie saw the layout, he suggested that setting up the drain would probably be as time-consuming as installing the furnace. That wasn't the case, but the drain issue was definitely a significant complication. Fortunately, the installers figured out a solution, tying into the kitchen drain, that appears to work perfectly and is completely hidden from view.
The installers worked with speed and care and were very diligent about minimizing the mess and the after-install cleanup. When the job was finished late that afternoon, there was no evidence left that Reliable had ever been there, other than the new Goodman furnace, quietly and gently blowing warm air through the ducts.
