Outdoor Potlights installed

Antonio and his partner did an amazing job!- 5 outdoor potlights on a high pitched roof and unbelievable patience fishing the wires through. He is highly skilled and knowledgeable and very fair price. I would definately recommend him to everyone and he will be the one I call for any future electrical needs. Top quality workmanship, integrity and a complete gentleman.

Install subpanel in garage and various plugs, heaters, circuits

Antionio and his crew were great. This is my second time using them. They ran a 30 amp 240 volt circuit from my house to the garage installed 3 new circuits, various plugs, lights, 240 volt baseboard heaters in my crawl space, 2 timers on each of 2 of the lines (so the heaters and dehumidifier would only come on when I wanted to). They also moved around several 15 amp breakers and added some thin breakers so I could keep everything in the 1 panel. They were very efficient and I paid them for parts and time rather than a preset price. I am very satisfied!

I would highly recommend Java Electric. They were super efficient and honest. They checked in with me before they proceeded with the work and didn't try to sell me on more expensive options - always appreciated!

Replace knob and tube, add new receptacles & security light, replace some light fixtures, add a new sub-panel

During a basement renovation we discovered knob and tube wiring that ran up to the second floor. We got three estimates for the job, all roughly the same, but we hired Antonio because he promised to do no damage to our plaster ceilings (which would cost $$$ to fix) and only minor damage to the walls. He was true to his word! What holes they made in the walls they rough patched, and I finished them with only a little bit of work. The other contractors told me I'd have patch myself or hire someone to do it for me. The crew was great: they were friendly, hard-working, showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves each day. They did everything they promised, and more. Highly recommended!

Breaker Panel Rewiring

My breaker panel had been wired incorrectly; the wires had been split between two breakers, and it affected the functioning of both my dryer as well as shorting out and burning my water heater unit.
When I called Antonio, he gave me an approximate time he could followup with me, and he stuck to it. He showed up, pulled apart my breaker panel, inspected the wiring, and gave friendly advice.
Antonio not only rewired the incorrect wiring, he inspected all of the other wires in the breaker box to ensure they were correct. He replaced my low amp breaker with one that had the correct amperage.
He worked quickly and efficiently and gave great advice.
I would recommend Java Electric Ltd to friends and family, and then next time I have any electrical needs, Antonio will be the first person I call.

Rewiring (from know & tube), upgrading, potlights

When I bought my Davisville Semi is June of 2010, I was told the knob & tube wiring needed to be replaced. I interviewed about 7 electricians who walked through my home in about 15 minutes and gave me a price. As I moved through the process, I noticed that the comments and approach were not consistent from one company to another, which confused me. I had never done this kind of renovation to a home, so I was naive and did not know what to expect.

Then, Antonio arrived to do a quote with his two young sons in tow. He spent over an hour going from room to room, asking questions and making notes. He explained his process of "fishing" wires, so as to make minimal, small holes in the walls. My walls are plaster, so this was a consideration that no one else had mentioned.

His boys were very patient an polite throughout the visit and I just got SUCH a good feeling from them. I felt Antonio was the kind of person I could trust with this work.

When I received the quote, I was surprised by how much higher the price was from the other quotes and I called Antonio to discuss it. He was very happy to help me understand the amount of labour that is involved in his approach as opposed to the other companies who will leave massive holes in my walls for someone else to fix ( none of them had told me this) and he assured me that I would be very pleased with the result. I went back to my contractor and we did the calculations of what it would cost for him to repair the holes after the other electricians finished, and I realized that Antonio's price was reasonable AND would eliminate the headache of having more contractors in my home after the electrical work was done.

I REALLY wanted Antonio to this job, and so I went with my intuition and hired him.

I have to say that hiring Antonio was the BEST decision I have ever made in terms of home improvements. His staff were polite, honored our space and worked within our daily schedule. The job started the day they promised and it exactly took two weeks, as they said it would. They arrived early each day and waited outside until we all left the house, so that we would not be inconvenienced in any way. They cleaned up after themselves EVERY DAY and were out of the house between the time that we arrived home and ate dinner. If you would have come to visit me after dinner on any given day, you would never have known there had been 5 electricians in my home all day.

Their work was impeccable and everything went smoothly with no surprises. We passed inspection and I now have a certificate that I can show in the event that I sell this home in the future.

Antonio is VERY busy, but he is worth the wait. A lovely man who deserves every bit of the success that he has earned.

Installing 2 ceiling fans, installing ceiling track and ceiling fixtures, and replacing dimmer

Antonio and the crew very friendly, professional and diligent. They were very careful to minimize any damage to drywall and paint by taking precise measurements. They listened carefully to ensure the job was done to our satisfaction. The crew also cleaned up any debris and old fixtures that were removed in the installation process. We were very pleased with the results and would be very happy to have them back for any future electrical repairs and installations.

Potlights in kitchen & basement, install OTR microwave, under-cabinet lighting

In a word: fantastic. Antonio and his crew arrived on time, were friendly and kept the work areas clean. When Antonio came to do the quote, he offered great suggestions/alternatives to keep costs down and was very honest. His quote was also quite reasonable compared to a few of the other places I checked out.
When our stove finally died we decided to upgrade all our appliances, even though we weren't ready to do our kitchen renovation yet, but we decided to do the electrical work at the same time since we needed to have the microwave installed. Antonio made sure that there was plenty of extra wire so that when we did go ahead with the renovation, we'd have some flexibility with the lighting.
We were very happy with the work (even the patch up job was great and didn't need any extra sanding/puttying on our part) and would highly recommend Java Electric to anyone for any electrical job you may have!

Install Chandelier, Add a light Fixture Box, 3 light fixtures

This is my second time using Java so I'm going to keep my review a little bit shorter as my last review was quite lengthy. My first review is from February 27th, 2011 titled "Potlights, Kitchen Undercabinet Lighting". Much like my last experience, Antonio and his team were phenominal. Again, the job was done on time and on budget, and with the same insightful and friendly service as the last time. Antonio installed a chandelier over our stairs/front foyer (including the moving of the electrical box and installation of a medallion), he added a new box and installed a light fixture on our second floor, and he installed 2 other light fixtures including a fairly large bowl over the front door. I don't know what else to say except these guys are fantastic and I would highly recommend them. Keep up the great work.

Checked and updated aluminum wiring, installed ceiling lights, installed fan

Based on the reviews on Homestars we called Java Electric to have them check the aluminum wiring for insurance purposes. Antonio explained the process on the phone and then came over for a free visit to test some outlets to see if updates were required or not. They were and he patiently answered our questions about aluminum wiring and assured us that as long as it was done correctly it was safe. In addition we asked him to quote on installing ceiling lights and a new fan. We felt comfortable with him and given the great Homestars referrals we booked an appointment for his team to come back the week after. They arrived as planned and put down protective cloths in the areas they were going to work. We left them to it and the 4 guys worked hard all day to complete the job and finished on time and as per the estimate. We really appreciated the work that Antonio and team did and have been recommending him to friends and family who are in need of trustworthy, reliable electricians. Thanks again!
