Lighting for my studio and for my home

Antonio and his team are simply the best electricians out there. We first met them when we were mounting our flat screen tvs on the walls in our old house. They had some challenges getting the electrical where they needed it and stayed until they got the job done.
I next hired them to do all of the lighting and electrical work for my studio. They did a fantastic job and did everything in a timely manner.
After that we hired them for our new house which needed a lot of new pot lights, dimmer switches, 3 ways, etc. They were always on time, always arrived when they said they would, they are very neat and tidy, and they are efficient. We had a lot of other trades doing work for us when we moved in and ALL of them were jokers--smoke breaks every 10 minutes, messy/sloppy, etc. Not Antonio and his team, with them you get nothing but the best. They come HIGHLY recommend from my husband and I, and we plan to use them for all of electrical needs for years to come.

Electrical Work

I was extremely satisfied with the work performed by Antonio and his crew. They were incredibly punctual - always on time, and they always showed up as promised. We used the to install potlights, change every light fixture in the house, install dimmers, and to install 3-way switches. Antonio was creative with some of his ideas, since our retrofit posed some technical issues. We used Java again a month later to redo our smoke and CO detectors. They were such a great company to deal with and I would highly recommend them!

Dryer Plug Installation

First time calling java Electric. He called me back each time and arrived on time exacty as he promised. Antonio was able to fish the wire in my 130 year old house and get the dryer plug in under 1 hr. He was very thorough and explained things each step of the way. I am a client for life!

$300.00
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Remember that the wire will need to find it's way to the pannel to the plug. Therefor, the longer and more complicated wire run will influence the complexity cost of the install. Remember that you will also need to wory about duct work for dryer venting.

Instalation of a dryer curcuit breaker panel

I needed have a dryer circuit breaker panel replaced, I read the reviews for Java Electric on Homestars and found them to be VERY helpful in the decision making. I called Antonio and setup a time for the work to be done, he was right on time, the work was done very quickly, neatly, professionally and the price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate for a second to use his company again, as a matter of fact I've asked them to comeback and replace the main breaker panel for the house (it needs to be updated) and also install two new outlets in the upstairs kitchen.

Electrical Repairs and Fixture Installation

Antonio and his partner arrived on time and did an excellent job fixing electrical problems in a number of outlets in our kitchen. Also they installed a number of overhead fixtures and even moved the location of one of the outlets on our ceiling so that it it was centered above our kitchen table.

Coupled with great customer service, I won't hesitate to use Java Electric again for our next project.

Panel replacement

Half of our electrical panel died all of sudden due to the age and poor quality of our panel, needless to say we needed emergency help. Antonio stopped by to inspect the work to be done, gave us options and made himself available the next day (1/2 work) to do the job. We are quite satisfied with the work he did and this means a lot coming from my husband as his dad is a retired electrician (living far away, not able to help).
Antonio and his team work extremely well. We are another set of very satisfied customers!

Installation of a 240V outlet for a new dryer

I had just replaced my washer/dryer and quickly realized that I didn't have the proper outlet to use with the new dryer. I called Java Electric Ltd. for a quote and was happy to talk to Antonio who quickly provided one based on the description I gave him over the phone. He was also very obliging to schedule the appointment for the installation the next morning since I was eager to catch up on the washing that was starting to pile up.

The next morning, Antonio (and another Java Electric Ltd electrician) arrived promptly at the scheduled time. I found them friendly, personable and professional, getting right to the job at hand and finishing sooner than I expected. After the installation, Antonio reviewed what he had done and we tested the dryer. The cost was exactly what I was quoted over the phone, which I think says a lot since he only had my brief description over the phone of what needed to be done.

I can't recommend Antonio enough, and I'll definitely call him in the future for other projects.

Repair loss of power in one part of house

We had a sudden loss of power in two rooms of our house. I was at a loss as to why this had happened. I'm pretty handy, but this was a mystery, so I needed to turn to the experts. We were very fortunate to have called Java Electric Ltd. I was afraid that this job might be too small when compared to whole house rewiring or adding circuit panels, but when Antonio arrived and reviewed the situation with me (for free), he found a number of problems in addition to the power loss, so I felt that I was in over my head.

The next day, he came back with Laureano. The two were tied up on a previous job (already reviewed favourably on here), and ended up coming by about 3 hours later than planned. Antonio called several times to let us know what was happening and gave us a heads up when he was on his way. To make an already long story short, after some clever detective work, he found a loose neutral in a bathroom light fixture. Resolving this single issue, fixed all of the problems. We thought there might be an issue in the attic, but luckily we focused on closer problems and sure enough, a solution was found, and quickly.

The point of all this—I don't think I've had a better experience with someone I contracted to work on my house, and at a fair price. Antonio and Laureno were personable, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. If we are within their work area in the future, I'll definitely call on Java Electric Ltd. to do any upgrades or other electrical work on my future home(s). I can't recommend them enough.

Complete knob & tube removal, aluminum wiring conditioning, relocation of sub-panel, new receptacles and indoor & outdoor lighting installation, general clean up of panels and exposed wiring

Outstanding - the quality of work, the customer service, the post-work follow up are all 10+++, and super nice people to boot! Without a doubt the best crew that has worked on my home (and we've had many).

When we decided to tackle the remaining knob & tube of our century old home and all its wacky electrical issues, we brought in the 6 highest-reviewed electrical companies on Homestars. We chose Antonio of Java, not only because his pricing was fair and all reviews were excellent, he was also extremely thorough when inspecting the house for the quote - in fact (and surprisingly) he was the only electrician who cared enough to opened up my electrical panels and sub-panels!

We had a very tight schedule to follow, and although the job took longer than expected, we were more than happy that Antonio took the time to DO IT RIGHT. When problems came up, he never passed the buck, or changed the pricing, or left it undone. For example, after all the electrical was updated, lights still flickered when my 1800 watt countertop oven was on, despite being plugged into a dedicated line. Antonio inspected the main line coming to the house and sure enough, it was pretty much fried and totally unsafe. He took it upon himself, above and beyond the quoted work - and up 3 stories on a ladder - to fix the really shotty job that some mickey mouse electrician did (of previous owner). No more flickering.

The ESA inspector came through and we passed without issue. I can rest easy knowing that Java has made my house safer… and it looks so much better, too! The cherry on top: the crew are MASTERS at wire-fishing. Not only did they make only the smallest and absolutely necessary holes through my old plaster walls, they rough-patched every single hole they made.

Antonio is a consummate professional and true to his word. And everyone at Java (Laureano, Junior, Pavel) are excellent, hardworking guys that went above and beyond. It is so rare to find such an upstanding crew and I would not even think of hiring any other electrician from here on.
