Washing Machine

Horrible Service! Still don't have a working washing Machine.. Tech is irresponsible and no one cares to do anything about it... I got told that I had to make arrangements to be available when the tech wanted even though he had appointments and failed to show 3 times!

Brick extended warranty

The Brick has the worst customer service we have ever experienced. They made an error by writing the wrong expiry date on our file. The warranty was due Dec 2013 and we went to redeem the warranty at that time, as we knew this was the expiry date, but we were told to come back in a year, in Dec 2014 as this was what was written in pen on our file by the manager of the store. So when we returned Dec 2014 the manager told us we should have come a year ago, and there is nothing they can do to help us. They claim it is now in the hands of TransGlobal Services. It's a cash cow and they know it. When we contact TGservices they tell us it's up to the brick. So in other words no one takes responsiblity ...everyone passes th buck. It's absolutely disgusting!!!!!

THE BRICK WARRANTY

My husband and I purchased almost all of our home furnishings and appliances from THE BRICK (not many other choices in our small city) We decided to get the extended 5 year warranty which is very lucky we did because NOT ONE of the items we purchased from the brick lasted without falling apart or having something wrong with it. Luckily for the furniture items they did exchange items for us upon complaints - important to note that the "new" items we were given were usually just as bad as the initial items with many defects or problems... but the worst of the worst is the problem with our fridge - it is a fridgidaire higher end model with a freezer and refrigerator side by side - it has been having a severe problem of water freezing at the bottom of the freezer - like a HUGE chunk of ice and when the doors are opened the water melts and our kitchen ends up with large amounts of water which have leaked out of the freezer. The issue I mainly want to bring to light here is the severe incompetence and indifference of the "warranty company" (called Trans Global Warranty Services) which is situated somewhere in Mumbai India that the Brick uses (by the way: I never usually write reviews but the amount of stress and wasted time this company has cost me has compelled me to write something to try to warn others!!) I have been on the phone for the total of Hours and Hours with this company. I am stubborn and will not give up in cases like this out of principle but it seems I am now realizing that the more they stall the repair of our unit the more likely we will reach the fast approaching end warranty date in June of 2015 .. I have spoken to over 12 different people there. I have given my "story" regarding the problem with our fridge, my personal information, and my frustrations with the warranty service to SO many different people. They keep giving me (or try to give me ) false hope that they are "trying their best" and "so sorry" about my unending saga of trying to get the problem repaired.. they say they will need to call me back with information for the repair and talk to their managers (blah blah blah) and then NOTHING again.. every time I call I TRY to be nice and understanding but my patience is pretty much worn out! I spend full mornings or afternoons dealing with this! I l know whoever is reading this might likely be thinking its not worth my frustrations and efforts and time - you are probably right - but as I said before I am very stubborn and in my mind if I give up on this I am giving them what they wanted and letting the Brick "win" by not having to repair their cruddy product. I want people to know that they really should try to not buy from THE BRICK - their customer service is horrible and the company is shady. To have a warranty company based across the world with people in a call center in India who seem to not care less about your concerns and make up excuse after excuse for why they cannot help you is unacceptable for a company trying to gain favor among customers- RUN far from the BRICK and any company which uses TRANS GLOBAL WARRANTY SERVICES!!

Ge fridge

I had transglobal tec out to my home 2 months ago left and up to now still waiting on the parts that i was told is coming from kitchener which is not that far from Toronto now I am still waiting each time I call its one excuse to another. I ask if the person is walking with the part coming all the way from china. I am totally frustrated with this unacceptable service that transglobal is providing. This is a service I pay for through Direct Energy and it is a lousy service. These people have the consumers by the throat just pissing around with the consumers. I would never advice anyone to use their services in the future if it could be avoided. LOUSY LOUSY

Appliance Repair

My appliances were bought by my builder from the Brick. I heard horrible things about the Brick from so many people and all of the horror stories are true. I will never knowingly buy anything from the Brick knowing that I will have to deal with TransGlobal. Their 'customer service' reps are useless, they don't seem to enter accurate notes or keep track of them. I've had two appliances break on my and it has taken 2 months average EACH TIME they had to be replaced. Each time I was tempted to just buy new appliances to avoid having to deal with this god-awful company. Thankfully the technician who comes out is great but the company is garbage. If i could give negative stars I would.

What could this company do to improve their services?
hire better customer service reps - ones that understand what you are saying, don't spend pointless time going through irrelevant info (why are you constantly repeating my work order number and the serial number for my appliance??) and who actually sound sincere when they pretend to care about your issue Understand that one's purpose in life is not to sit around waiting for someone to show up to find out within 5 minutes that they can't fix it. I can't just repeatedly take time off work in hopes that the machine may get fixed Follow up/through - I was told 3 weeks ago that I would get a call when the part came in so an appointment could be scheduled. Heard nothing so I called last week. Told that I would get a call to set up the appointment - nothing. For each issue I've had, I've had to call to follow up on what they've promised.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Find a different company If you're stuck with a warranty like I am - find patience and good luck to you - you'll need it.

TV repair/replacement under warranty

Back in 2011 I bought a Samsung LCD TV and a Full Circle Warranty for 299$. About 2 weeks ago the TV stopped working when the picture would not come on (but the sound worked).
Right away I found my warranty and called Transglobal.

Initial phone call went well, the Transglobal employee was polite and asked my permission to use my first name. I dont find that necessary to ask, but the politeness was appreciated. I explained the situation with the TV and they set up an appointment for a repairman to come to my home. I believe I called on Friday and the repairman would come on Wednesday.

On Monday the repairman calls and asks for the serial number of the TV. I think he reconfirmed that he would be coming on Wednesday. On Wednesday morning he called and said he'd be there between 12-2 and he came at 1:55 so pretty much when he said. Right on time. He also asked us to take the TV off the wall if it was mounted, which we did. I was really impressed that he put on plastic booties to protect our floors. He was very polite and friendly to us. He did some tests on the TV and figured it was the invertor. He gave us a receipt and took the TV with him to the repair shop. He told us to call Transglobal on Friday to find out the status of the TV.

On Friday I called and found out that I'd been approved for a new TV. My TV was still under the full circle warranty, as it did not expire until May 2015. The Transglobal employee on the phone was again very polite and helpful. They gave us a confirmation code to confirm that we were approved for a new TV.

That same day we headed to the Brick to get a new TV. Now this is the only part of the story thats slightly negative. When the sales guy saw my full circle warranty folder, and I told him I wanted to get a TV, he said the warranty only could be used for furniture and mattresses. Well, excuse me, but my TV was still covered, why would I want to get a mattress, can I hang that on my wall? Does it get good reception? What happened was the salesman assumed my warranty was expired and I wanted to spend my store credit. (If you dont use the warranty before it expires, you can spend it on store credit but ONLY on furniture and mattresses). This was not the case. After a little investigation, they found my TV was still covered by warranty so he helped me to find a good TV that came close to my store credit (760$ or so). Over all my experience in the Brick was overall positive but would have been better if the salesman hadn't assumed my warranty was expired. I guess they get people coming in a lot to spend their credit. Oh well. I got a good TV to replace my broken one and the experience with transglobal and the brick was actually a very positive one. I didn't have to pay anything for the repair or new TV, just the initial cost of the warranty which covered the replacement.
