Orkin Pest Control

I tried to avoid using Orkin, but these guys own many companies that appear to be independent. I called in late December to remove a critter from my attic. It's now 3 months later and the critter is still wreaking havoc up there.

I've called them twice this month and they tell me the tech will return and they will call me back to confirm but the tech hasn't been back and they haven't returned my call.

Not sure what I paid $300 for.

We moved outside of Toronto into a house surrounded by many trees. In the first spring we started having appearances of large ants in the kitchen which is when I discovered what carpenter ants are and the danger they present.

I found Orkin in HomeStars and decided to give them a chance. I signed up for the yearly service as we were also having a fair number of spiders throughout the house. They were very cooperative and flexible in the scheduling as I needed to coordinate a trip to the groomers for the cats so they'd be out of the house. It was a few back and forth phone calls and not once did I sense any frustration.

The technician educated me on carpenter ants and their sources. He pointed out which trees I needed to have pruned away from the house and we discussed the aged wooden deck in the back. After the spraying I took steps to have the trees pruned and we built a new composite deck - there hasn't been a carpenter ant since!

I'm very happy with the service of Orkin and would recommend them.

We are so happy we got Orkin to spray our house for bugs. No more centipedes or spiders in the house, what a pleasure. I wish we had done it a few years ago when we first started seeing centipedes. It's so nice to go to the basement and not worry about seeing a big spider on the wall when I turn on the light. We signed up for the yearly service. They will come back whenever we want. It takes under an hour for them to spray then you stay out of the house for 4-6 hours. No smell when you come back. No sign of the spray. All insects inside are now gone. Dave is very knowledgeable and was great. The spray inside lasts for a certain amount of time, they can tell you how long. We haven't had it too long so I can't say how long it lasts. Since it's summer and insects are active, I expect we'll get sprayed again in a couple months.
