Steve is a lifesaver; I can't be any more concise than that.

I had been committed to building a water feature in my backyard and after having attended his build-a-pond seminar at Sheridan Nursery last year I was even more inspired to get started.

Before I commenced construction I had Steve come over for an in-person dedicated design consultation to give me the benefit of his experience and make suggestions on what would look best given the geographical parameters of my yard.

Operating under the assumption "go big or go home" I bought the largest Aquascape pond kit available and armed with a great deal of enthusiasm but very little skill, my work crew and I got down to business.

As I had paid attention at the seminar I got most of it right.
Unfortunately as there was an awful lot to take in, I missed a basic principle which resulted in a leak that I just couldn't figure out how to fix.

Steve came over and had the problem fixed in half an hour.

Now, any contractor worth their salt would be able to do that. But Steve did it without laughing at me for making an amateurish mistake. He also explained where & why I had gone wrong without dumbing down or making me feel inadequate, or even outright laughing at me.
I'm sure that he thought my pond was pretty awful, but nonetheless he found something good to say and praised me for my effort and enthusiasm.

So even though I had done something monumentally stupid, he did not add insult to injury by making me feel bad on top of charging me to fix it, but instead was encouraging, helpful and most of all, competent.

Above all else, Steve is really passionate about his work and I think that's an incredibly important element when choosing a contractor. Again, anybody can do a job if they are paid enough money, and some of them will even do a good job. But there's a difference between someone who does this to put food on the table and an artist like Steve who infuses every project with love and creativity.

If I had this project to do all over again I honestly have to say that I'd still do it myself, just to be able to say that I did it, but I am grateful beyond words that Steve is there as a resource. If you don't want to undertake a project of this magnitude yourself, you just can't get any better than Westney Landscaping.

I would also be remiss if I didn't mention that Steve's wife & office manager, Diane, is a total sweetheart. They truly are a dynamite team and your best choice if you're looking to install an awesome water feature backed up with truly stellar customer service.

A leaky pond for months had me up at 2 a.m. searching for help. It came in the form of Steve and his team at Westney Landscaping. Rather than waste time and money, Steve made the right call and rebuilt our pond from scratch. No more filling the pond every 2 days. Not only did Steve solve our problems, he transformed the pond where we can now see right down to the bottom. He recommended lights for the pond and what an amazing difference that made. Pond lights at night changes the whole experience. We now enjoy the pond day and night. Steve also repositioned our pagoda, added rocks and turned a pretty mundane pond to something pretty magical. This guy is simply remarkable.

Steve provided such a level of trust, comfort and expertise, we were thrilled to have found him. We loved the work that he did so much, we've contracted him to build us a water feature for our front yard.

As Steve says, "everybody wants a pond, they just don't know it yet". Well, when you figure it out, just call Steve. You'll thank yourself.

Steve and his crew are extremely professional and artistic in their work. They completed a beautiful waterfall and pond in my backyard this May 2010. They truly listened to what we wanted and were able to make it happen. They worked in a professional manner and completed the job on a timely basis. My husband and I (neighbours, family and friends)have spent numerous hours sitting by the pond and enjoying it. The pond is stress relief and a haven away from the hectic world. Money well spent. No regrets.

I commissioned Steve to find a specimen rock for my landscaping makeover with a mandate that it had to have full water coverage, be attractive for the birds and to produce an audible sound of gentle water-fall. The project was to be completed in May 2010.

Steve and his crew came through in all respects to my full satisfaction. I now have something I dreamed of and which my wife and I will enjoy daily---hopefully for many years.

These guys are rock stars.

When it comes to build a fishing pond, Steve is an expert and an artist. He is so creative with lots of care. His services and works exceed your imagination and expectation. He is really good in doing his work.

Steve Handley is an artist when it comes to water feature design and incorporation into the landscape. He designed and built a 3' waterfall full of granite rocks of varying sizes, with four tiers, that ends in a pondless rockscape. His level of professionalism and sincere interest in building something beautiful that we love is way beyond our expectations.
