Sears Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

the tech was here for 40 mins.total (from arrival to departure, including set-up, paper work, etc ) to do 2 rooms, a short hall and 5 stairs. The rooms were cleared (except 1 bed), all vacuumed. The result was no better than when I'd done it myself in the past! Waste of time, money. I will never use Sears again for this.

Upstairs cream carpet in 4 bed house with closets and landing, did a great job on cream carpets removing all the grime from everyday use. Carpets looked great once finished. Other companies quoting $400 plus for the same job I was skeptical at first but pleasantly surprised.

I had Sears Carpet cleaners here 2 weeks ago. Paid for 3 rooms hallway, stairs for 129.99 extra 100 for deodorize .I founds lines and triangle parts still looking dirty.called the office and they pleasantly arranged for a second visit.
This time the Tech was unpleasant raising his voice and saying the lines were normal and carpet was nicotine stained and would not be removed. Despite my explaining that the carpets had been cleaned once before after smoking had ceased in the house yet did not have the marks I had this time.
Said this time carpet cleaned in one direction and excess water not removed ( this is what causes the Lines) carpet would take 24 hrs to dry.
Next time I'll use a Carpet company not SEARS

What an awful job. They did not listen to any direction. They just vacuumed the floor once, I assume with shampooed water, did not rinse anything. The floor was left in different stripes, which never became normal carpet. In the end they gave me some paper to sign which I thought was a receipt, however, it was some release of satisfaction with their job. Never hire Sears in Ottawa again! They are not professional company and will never provide any good quality job!

I have had a few carpet cleaners over the years. I had Sears come today to clean 4 rooms and a hall with added deodorant. Their system is new, revolutionary. They do not dump a bucket of soapy shampoo on the carpet that is impossible to remove and actually
makes the carpet more sticky so that it attracts extra dirt after the cleaning. This is what most carpet cleaners do!

Sears technicians spray the whole carpet with a cleaning solution that soaks into the carpet releasing the dirt and grime. This is followed up with a fresh water rinse that totally removes the
cleaning solution or any chemicals that were used. The end result is that the carpet looks fresh and brand new again.

It appears there are some old fashioned people writing bad reviews because they are only familiar with soap and water cleaning used during the dark ages many years ago!

Sears did a wonderful amazing job today. I highly recommend their services. I am very satisfied.

If you have high blood pressure please do not, I repeat, do not call Sears to clean anything in your home or that stroke that has been waiting on you will definitely happen and I say this on a serious note.I am not joking or trying to be funny and nor do I have anything against sears but in all honesty this company needs to leave the cleaning business ASAP as it is not one of their greatest gifts and talents. These company is the worst carpet cleaning service I have ever ever ever encountered in my life of living.Personality wise they are rude, nasty and have a very shielded nature when talking to them and from what I experienced they do not care. The work they did for me was messy and the carpet was not cleaned well at all.I had to go through hell just to get another worker to come back out and to clean the carpet.Honestly I don't even think they use soap, just water. A second worker came out and he was no better than the first .The second guy not only did a boo boo of a job but he was extra late. To everybody that reads this ....Let your dog clean your carpet before you call sears to come and do it. Sincerely Horrez

Upon making Appointment I was told the workers would move any furniture that need to be moved, I was quoted $120.00 end up paying $160.00 the workers refused to move futon so they clean around it now there a large dirty area in the BR it took Two-Days for the carpet to dry and only that they broke my Curtin rod.. just unhappy with services.

Do not use these guys. They quoted me a rate of $87 to do a 300 square foot room plus stairs. When they arrived, I was told that was traffic areas only; they didn't move furniture. They always had in the past so don't know if this is new. He did move the furniture after a call to the office (but nothing over 75 pounds), but did not put it on Styrofoam blocks so I can only hope the stain from my black bookcase is not bleeding into the wet white carpet. The sides of the stairs and edge of the carpets were left dirty and I was told that was furnace dirt and wouldn't come out. I sensed an upsell to duct cleaning coming at that point and cut him off. He asked did I want him to try to clean it with the upholstery brush and I said yes since I had hired them to CLEAN the carpet. He had put everything away so adopted an attitude at this point and called the office, who told me the same thing - they are stains so apparently there was no point in trying to clean them. Finally I just signed the completion certificate to get him out of the house. Have always used Sears but clearly something has changed; will not use them again.

Customer service TERRIBLE!! When I called to book a service I was provided with a price that was different to what was charged to my card. I have had my carpets cleaned with them in prior years and price had gone up due to an "environmental fee" of $12. That would have been fine if someone actually told me that I would be charged that, but instead they told me they would charge me the same price I had paid on my last service.
When I followed up with the manager, they told me their hands were tied. Poor customer service to provide a price and not honour it!! VERY DISAPPOINTED....BEWARE....YOU COULD BE PAYING SOMETHING TOTALLY DIFFERENT WHEN YOU GET THE BILL. Instead of an apology, I got, "it's only $12". Whatever happended to honouring the principal of your word. Not much for these guys..... would NEVER use them again or recommend to anyone.

The smell of chemicals / cleaner is so strong we can't stand to be on the main floor of our house. Our sectional was "cleaned" ( I use that word loosely -it's worse in places than before they came!). Got spray all over the hardwood - wiped it with a wet, dirty cloth. Up-sold me the Scotchguard, but after this experience, we don't trust the service! BEWARE!!!
