Amigos Roofing

I did not hire these roofers but the previous owners of my house did. My roof is about nine years old. After a large rainfall in early summer 2023, my ceiling started to leak all over a large portion of my bedrooms. I called Amigos immediately after I found my paperwork and they eventually came out to check out the issues. They sent a couple of young guys up, banged a few nails here and there, cocked a few areas, put on a bit of a show, and basically indicated that should fix it, and then they took off. I knew the problem was bigger than a couple of extra nails, considering the damage inside my home. No shingles were missing, by the way. They had just not been installed properly. So, I had some outside roofing companies and independent contractors investigate. The roof had not been done correctly the first time around. Specifically, the starter and ice and water seal were installed backwards. The ice and water seal did not even reach the lip of the roof. The nails were not positioned in the correct areas of the shingles. The job was cheap, lazy and poor quality. As you can see in the photos, when the nails were pulled out of this section of my roof, the rust from water seeping in through had gone almost all the way up to the top. I called Amigos again to let them know some of the bigger issues and this part was the worst of the entire experience they yelled at me when I brought up some of these concerns on the phone. The couple that owns the company denied any responsibility /culpability, even though the proof is in the pictures that it was a poor job from the start. They treated me disrespectfully and without any human decency. They did say they would send out their guys one more time, but then said that I should lose their number and never call again. Well, I was at work when their guys showed up, as I was never given a day nor time not that they would have fixed the problem, anyway. I asked them to arrange another day and time but I never heard or saw from them again. In addition to photographic evidence, I also have proof of the way these owners berated me over the phone and hung up on me. They obviously stopped returning my phone calls, too. So, throw in general lack of professionalism. Of course, I called in my insurance company, but they would not cover the roof and interior damage because of poor workmanship on the roof and continuous leakage and seepage over time. So, no thanks to Amigos for building an unsafe roof and shame on them for treating a potential customer (I went to another awesome company, which treated me with respect, to have it completely redone) so very poorly. Shame on you for treating anyone like that, for any reason. If anyone asks if they know of any solid and trustworthy roofing companies in Nova Scotia, I will specifically tell them to stay far away from Amigos and give the names of the owners. I am also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. This is completely unacceptable product and service even dangerous. From the worst possible customer service, to a roof that was just put on wrong, to passing on blame to anyone but themselves, these guys only want to plop on a cheap roof, take your money and run, with no cares about quality workmanship and clearly, their companys reputation. Stay far away. These guys are definitely not your Amigos. Id give zero stars if I could.
