I bought a brand new baywood home and moved in on jan 09. I should have known the house would give me problems down the road when the pdi list generated over 100 repair items. Repairs were rushed, every repair trip resulted in a list of new defects. Fast forward to a month ago and I started noticing water dripping from my office closet door frame and from the ceiling on the main floor. Had some roofers and contractors assess the condition of the roof and general consensus was the roof needed to be replaced. Thats right the roof on my 5 yr old home needs to be replaced, so much for 20 yr shingles. I contacted baywood and as expected, they hid behing the tarion warranty and sent me to talk to their roofers. Baywood's commitment to quality craftsmanship is an advertising slogan and nothing more, they stand behind their product to the extent the tarion warranty forces them and even there, their strategy is to frustrate the homeowner into submission until the warranty period expires and then you're on your own. Buyer beware!
