Jeld Wen Of Canada Ltd

We purchased Jeld Wen, aluminum clad woodent windows for our renovated log home. Both bay windows arrived late on site and were not square or symetrical. They would not fit in the very square holes cut in the walls. The 2nd order when it arrived, wasn't much better but they could fit in the wall with the supervision of a company rep., and our contractor. Two of the winders on these windows have been difficult from day one. The more troubling part to this story is that the biggest pane in both windows keep cracking. Spontaneous cracking isn't covered after 10 years. They other windows thoughout the house have had their weather stripping replace 3 different times. They don't seem to hold up to UV light well, but at least they don't crack every 2-3 years. We are about to install the 4th replacement pane in our bay windows. Jeld Wens rep., suggested that we use a local glass company to do the job as it would be cheaper. I thanked them for this, and our local company does a great job, and have a great reputation. They don't see this as a "faulty install". Our home is 30 plus years old so I don't believe it is a "house settling" issue. The previous windows never cracked? I would like to see the company own up to a faulty product. They have offered to come and inspect, which is great, but not at $185/hr.

Impossible to get anything done. The main contact Bartosz is arrogant and self absorbed and treats people like they're useless because he knows everything and everyone else knows nothing. Never again.

The worst windows we had problems with the windows from the first year we installed them, they don't shut right and some gets fog between the glass
Never ever buy windows from this company again so buyers beware

Custom built home with large package of various sized triple pane windows.. Fixed picture window was leaking and freezing in freeze/thaw seasons 4 months after install. Ice build up now forming in smaller triple pane fixed windows. 3 years later, still having problems and now Jeldwen wants $185/ hour to assess (not including fix). Losing energy on poor seals /casings

Built a new house..windows didnt even last 7 years
Long story short...found the 10 year receipt / warranty too late...my house is 11 years old and I have to replace most of my windows

Purchased three master bathroom windows. Paid extra for the pebbled glass on delivery all the windows had the wrong glass and both the side windows that were suppose to open did not work right and the screens were the wrong size. Purchased in Sept/19 we are now in Jun/20 and the screens still not in as they keep sending the wrong size. The most frustrating part is I have to keep emailing as they do not send you any updates of when new screens will be coming. With it now being 10 months from purchase and still not fixed. Beyond frustrating and the main office not very helpful!

Contractor Replaced all windows 2 years ago with Jeld-wen windows. I got a quote to put uv film on them. The installer tested the windows. He told me he has seen before ( rarely ),where inside glass was used on the outside and outside on the inside.
The jeld-wen windows that I have are over 60% assembled wrong. They would shatter if he put the 100% uv block window film on them!!!
Terrible quality control. Crap product with very sloppy sliding mechanisms on the sliding windows. I am not at all pleased with quality of these windows, never mind finding out I can't even put the 100% film, I can only go 70% max.

Door was delivered with a crack in the frame.
The old door is removed, New door unwrapped and placed in opening. While squaring the frame and testing the doors, the doors would not close properly. Noticed the top frame was cracked. This was a Saturday. Company not open. What to do? Can't put back old door. Don't want a huge hole in wall. Continued the install to avoid a large hole in back wall.
Now manufacturer refuses to address the issue because it was installed.

newly built home 2018. custom patio doors 8x16 ordered through builder who uses Jeld-Wen. installed by Jeld-Wen. Framed bowed, sliding doors do not close tight, screen doors do not close tightly....during rain storm water leaking inside on hardwood floor.
Jeld-Wen in to try and "fix" problems 5 times. Last time july 12th. came with 3 people including Daniel, manager for the area. Daniel acknowledged the multiple attempts at "patching " the problems were not working and that the patio doors would be replaced within 2-3 weeks because custom made.
July 23rd...no dates for replacement.
Do NOT use this window company....very poor service and product!

I ordered almost 26 replacement wood windows through Home Hardware at their recommendation and on that of my contractor. It was a major investment and it ended up being a real problem. A large number of windows had construction or assembly problems. It was challenging to get service to respond (multiple followups for most attempts) but I did get service and in the end warranty repairs were done on 13 windows (they missed one). The problems resulted in an over 6 month delay in the completion of the project and several thousand dollars in additional costs to me and now I am worried that I will have more problems down the road. If I had to do it over I would have gone with another manufacturer. The only reason that they got 1 star from me is because they actually made an effort to fix the problems with their windows. Although some of their people made a real effort to help I cannot recommend that ANYONE buy their products.
