Flat and peaked roof repair/replacement

I hired Keith to strip both my flat and shingled roofs and to repair/replace them. Job was done quickly and efficiently... BUT...

and this is a big BUT...

Problems began almost immediately after the job was "done". The flat roof was improperly sealed, resulting in a flood in the master bedroom closet (ruined hundreds of dollars of clothes) - Keith sent a crew to repair it, and less than a week later it leaked again. Had to have the closet repaired twice and throw out bags of clothes that were moulded and stained.

Next, the addition at the back (which had been leaking and prompted the job in the first place) continued to leak for well over a year. Keith didn't seem to be able to fix it.

Then about eight months later we had our first major leak in our back bedroom, right where the chimney is. This was the second place in the house that was leaking that hadn't been before we hired Keith. Turns out Keith's guys hadn't correct the roof's slope when they fixed it so water was pooling in the corner and the seal on the flat roof did not hold. He came by to 'fix' it, but less than two months later, in another heavy rain storm, it leaked again (this time ruining several hundred dollars worth of my tenant's belongings).

Another fix, another month or two, and another leak - same place as last time. This time he gets his crew to try and fix the slope (which should have been done in the first place but wasn't), but a few months later, in January 2010, during a melt, it leaked again in both the upstairs back room and in the downstairs addition. This time the closet ceiling caves in.

Keith puts off that repair until spring and it leaks again in March. He comes by, swears all is good this time and that it shouldn't leak again, and guess what? It leaks in June.

It's now leaked four times since June and I've left seven messages for the guy and he's not returned any of them. I've put in three years, $10,000 for the roof, and over $1500 in repairs to the house caused by the leaks his job made, and he doesn't have the decency to return the calls - or repair the damned roof.

If the job had been done properly in the first place, and if he hadn't tried to repeatedly fix the roof on the cheap, rather than replacing it and doing it properly the second time around like he should have, I wouldn't be in a position where I'm about to sue the guy.

Save yourself the heartache and use any other roofing company out there. He may be great to deal with if there aren't any problems with the job, but if he screws it up you're in for long-term serious headaches - and likely years to get any satisfaction in court.

Approximate cost of services:
$10,000.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Do the job right the first time, and not shirk their responsibility in correcting problems after the fact.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY.
