Mast. Bath, Fireplace, Bedroom Closets
This was to be a 4-week project that only ended 4+ months later when we got tired of fighting them for things they agreed to, (photos of the work done on the roof for example), and just wanted them out of our house. The lack of communication was frustrating, and on multiple occasions along the way we asked to meet with Adam on-site to discuss how we were going to get back on-track...each time our request was ignored. While at the end of the day the work looks to be well done, it definitely wouldn't have been the case if we weren't all over them about things they missed or completed incorrectly along the way. This was a daily process.
It's worth noting that once the job was complete we received a nice thank you letter from them with a $100 LCBO Gift Card and a request to rate them on HomeStars. This was followed by an email a short while later with another request for a HomeStars review AND the offer to write the review for us which only requires us to "confirm the review". Seem a bit sketchy?
I firmly support the suggestion in the 1-star rating of June 3, 2014 that you should speak to people directly that have worked with GarCon to get a broader picture. They should be happy to provide references.
The route we take to get to the final product is just as important as the final product itself.

- Company Response
We share your frustration in agreeing that your project took longer than expected. We don't often do long winded responses, and we don't want to come across as defensive, but we feel it necessary to address two of your comments: Your comment that we offered to write an ACCURATE and FAIR review on your behalf for homestars that we would send to you for approval. This is something we OFFERED to our clients since the beginning of homestars only as a convenience. We would not have posted something you yourself did not AGREE with. As we are sure you understand this is important for our business, and at times the effort of going online, signing and writing a review has not been a priority for our customers. Secondly, your comment about the LCBO gift cards seems to insinuate that we were attempting to "bribe" a positive review. We are sincerely sorry that you took it that way. We recognized that your project did not go entirely as planned and the gift was just that, a gift, for you to enjoy in your beautiful home. Again, we are very sorry for the negative experiences, we agree that the road to to completion should be pleasant, but we are very glad to hear that you are pleased with the quality of the finished project and we don't feel that it warrants a 1. All the best in the future.
