Plumbateria

My first experience with Plumbateria was after I was referred to them by a manager at Rona. I was suffering from low water pressure in my house and was chasing down a new Pressure Regulator Valve, a specialized piece of equipment as I found out. Company was coming and my house was without water. Wifey not happy. I called ahead as I raced to their location to find out if they had the part. They picked up, were happy to confirm they had the part I was looking for and held it.

When I got to the store, I met Brett. He heard my story, walked me through my low water pressure suspicions, helped me validate that the PRV was the culprit, and gave me some great advice on the installation. The part was pricey, but I saved myself some money by doing it myself. I felt out of my depth on this one but Brett's guidance helped immensely. Thanks a million. Dax.

At first I thought these guys were being difficult when I was trying to change a 50 yr old brass tub faucet as the technician (Hai) wanted me to remove the insert which I knew was going to be impossible but what where I realized his intentions were genuine was when he said "listen I don't want to sell you the wrong part" I went along with it. He then further guided me as to what I would need done.
They were the only plumbing store in Calgary ( I checked 5) to have one what had a brass finish so I said fine, hired a plumber to help me as the original housing was seized. At this point ... I would have left a 4 star review but then the new faucet was leaky. Took it back and after showing the technician (Hai) a video he said no problems, took the faucet and ordered me a new one, no questions asked.
If you want plumbing experts or a unique one of a kind look.... look no further.

I had ordered a number of plumbing fixtures from another store and they were on back order. My contractors were all coming in and the fixtures had not arrived yet so I called Plumbateria in a panic. Not only did they get me what I needed, they express delivered it overnight and open the store an hour early in the morning so I could get them in time before the plumber was due to arrive. I also really appreciate that the staff made sure I had every necessary part so there were no issues when the plumber arrived. The entire staff that I dealt with were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. I cannot say enough about the service, above and beyond. I now understand how the store has been in business for 68 years!

Needed to do repairs and install on old dishwasher etc. Nobody else, that I found, had the parts, expertise, and interest to figure out what would work.

Two different occasions--same satis faction. Going bacK this week looking for another obscure part.

They were great!

Went there to support a local business and get better advice than I might have gotten at a big box store. Told salesperson we wanted to replace a kitchen faucet but needed expert advice because of size constraints where it had to be installed.

Showed him iPhone photos and measurements of the space we had. He offered up a couple of products that he said would work, we paid up front for one that was then ordered.

When it came in a couple of weeks later Plumbateria's own plumber could not install it due to the hole in our granite being too small. Not wanting to re-drill the hole and risk damage we decided to return the faucet to Plumbateria and wait until we found a product that would fit the space.

Well, they refused to return the product at first because it had been a "special order" item and they cannot be returned - even though the salesman never told us that condition - we would not have bought it if he had - as he had already seen from our detailed photos and measurements, we were very concerned about finding anything that would fit the space we had to work with.

It took over 45 minutes speaking with the owner to even get him to return the item minus 25% - which is a lot of money on a nearly $900 item - then he also deducted more dollars for the plumber!

At first he offered a gift card worth the same amount as the faucet - like after all this disappointment he really thought I would return to use a gift card? Who is that arrogant that they expect after being treated like that you'd return? Amazing.

I will never darken their door again and I would suggest other potential customers be very careful. Their sales people will not tell you about everything you buy there being special order and therefore not returnable. I suspect they intentionally do not mention this little aspect of their business.

Go elsewhere, life is too short to deal with insincere businesses like this. It's hard being a consumer these days. You're willing to pay more to support a local business and hopefully get expert advice and then something like this happens. Too bad, but that is the way they want to run their business it would seem.

Don't shop at Plumbateria unless you are 100% sure you understand the conditions attached to doing business with them.

We presented a plumbing problem and they recommended a solution. Tok money up front and when he solution arrived it was absolutely unsuitable and did not meet our requirements or solve our problem. They are and have refused a refund. We are now out almost a thousand dollars ($1000) and no solution to our problem.

you want it they have it, great selections for any bathroom or kitchen renovations if you are building or renovating. They are a bit expensive, but I believe that they have quality products.
