You will be terribly disappointed with this contractor. Farid does not do any work himself and subs everything out so when it breaks down and it will. He wont stand behind it.
I hired Metropolitan Mechanical to install a new furnace with central air in a commercial space and 2 triple head ductless air conditioners in the residential space upstairs. The refrigerant tubes were never tightened properly so all the freon escaped into my walls and then the compressor burned out and the furnace I srill live with in my commercial space was installed incorrectly so it sound like a jet engine when it is going. I actually have to turn it off when clients come in because it is so loud. I ended up having to fight with LG to get them to warranty the ductless but had to still pay their recommended service people to fix it. $1000. So much for a warranty. I have since had issues with both ductless units and they are only 2 and a half years old. Bottom line. Do not hire Metropolitan Mechanical and don't buy LG. It was a very expensive lesson. RESPONSE TO TIEN HUANG:
This is in response to Tien Huang comments concerning Metropolitan Mechanical Services. This is a FALSE ACCUSATION that Metropolitan Mechanical Services uses sub-contractors, which is not true. The installers who did the work at the above address are my employees. They have been with the company for over 20 years and they are very experienced installers. The job we did for Tien Huang was a commercial and NOT a residential to start with. All the equipment, designs, and drawings were prepared by Tien`s engineer and was approved by the City of Toronto. When we completed the job, the City of Toronto came to do their final inspection and everything was approved.
The job included Fresh Air Ventilation system, fireplaces, H.E boiler, rads , H.E horizontal furnace, 2 L.G ductless-multi head systems, High Efficiency A.C. and gas piping throughout the building. The work was done in 2009, when we left the site, all the equipment was in excellent working good condition. All the equipment had manufacture warranties and one year labour warranty (which is standard for commercial jobs). Tien Huang expressed to me that he was happy with the high level quality job that was done.
I did not hear from Tien for over 2 years; he had no issues and no problems, until one of the LG ductless units stopped working. Metropolitan sent out one of its services representatives to check the system out. It was determined that the compressor on one of the ductless units had seized. I got in touch with our LG supplier (Wosley) to get a new compressor for Tien. Woseley was unable to obtain one under warranty. Woseley contacted LG Canada who contacted me, and made arrangement to meet with us on-site, in which I did. L.G Representative confirmed it was the compressor, they did not have any replacement compressors in stock at the time; they reassured me that they would look after Tien. We were not involved with what transpired after L.G took over with Tien Huang
Recommendation
Tien did not inform me that LG was going charge him $1000 for the installation of the new compressor. He went ahead and made arrangements with LG and a 3rd party to install the compressor without speaking to me. If I knew about it, I would have made some arrangements to help solve the problem. I was unaware of the situation, until this review was brought to my attention by one of my repeat customers.THE REVIEW WAS ONLY WRITTEN BY TIEN AFTER HE WAS CHARGED $1,000.00 by LG, WHICH HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME OR METROPOLITAN MECHANICAL SERVICES.
