I asked Frontier to come out and service my Geothermal Furnace charging $75.00 just to come to the door for a 10 Minute drive away. The original manufacturer is no longer around. I asked for someone with experience and I got a you technician who hasn't serviced many units.
He assessed the furnace and gave me many possible reasons why the unit wasn't working and asked me to choose what I wanted him to do. He is supposed to be the expert and not ask me which is the better way to go. They charged me full price of the visit and never fixed the furnace. I had another company come in who traveled 45 minutes and they charged my $90.00, they assessed the furnace, found a broken wire on a sensor and injected dye into the compressor to check for leaks and charged the unit back up . The unit is back up and running again and the cost was only $80.00 more than Frontiers assessment and left with out getting the furnace up and running. Granted they have to come back and fix the leak in a couple of months but my furnace is now operational. The cost of the 2nd repair person called was way less than the cost for Frontier to asses and fix my unit. Plus I am a satisfied customer and its not to Frontier Mechanical Services
- Approximate cost of services:
- $294.00
