I had the roof of my home replaced.

Hi Erin, Thank you for posting your review and point of view.
I take all reviews serious and have always worked honestly and openly with all the homeowners I have had the privilege to help with in their renovation projects.
In response to your review, please keep in mind that our company was the only company that mentioned and performed a thorough attic inspection as being needed prior to the work being done and to both you and your husband's surprise found a health hazardous mold present in over half of the plywood on your home. According to your husband, the mold was caused by a previous contractor, which did not hook the dryer exhaust hose properly. Your husband did the best he could in re-attaching the hose, yet the mold continued to spread until the time we identified it.
We offered to replace the wood prior to the installation of new shingles and even reduced the price to help you through this unforeseen extra expense.
Our installers worked on your home through a record heat wave that lasted over 2 weeks. Nevertheless, we managed to install the shingles on time despite loosing several members of our crew taking sick due to heat exhaustion. The day we finished the roof deck and shingle replacement to your unit you and your husband approached me with questions on the work that had been performed. I was caught by surprise and not able to comment on your concerns as I had just arrived when you approached me and had not spoken with the crew or quality manager. I however was surprised at your comments to the installation of H-clips to the new sheets of plywood. I did not note H-clips being installed when I performed your attic inspection otherwise there would have been a surcharge cost quoted in with your roof deck replacement cost. I would suspect that the mold made them less apparent and they were missed. As soon as the oversight was noted we offered to “block” the new installed plywood at no cost to you. This being an alternate to H-clips as found in the building code. Everyone appeared happy with what was proposed and agreed. Coordinating the work to accommodate your changing schedule was challenging. In the end, when we were finally able to complete the work, your roof deck was complete, Attic mold free and much more solid than would have been using H-clips.
Nothing was ever hidden from you, nor were we 'caught' by your husband. It was a simple oversight and once noted, it was remedied without issue. We were in open communication all the way through the project.
I feel however that I must comment. You made it very difficult for us to finish the work as you continuously cancelled prearranged install dates. You took no time in acknowledging the care and hard work that was performed at any time during the process. Nevertheless, after the work was completed, at better specifications, and no additional cost, despite us helping you along the way with your Mold issue and providing a substantial discount for the removal and re-installation of your roof deck, you further refused to pay your bill. You wanted more. We more than fulfilled the four walls of the contract and in a professional manner. Finally, in an effort to finalize this account a further courtesy discount was offered and accepted in favor of your satisfaction and referral. That did not happen.
