Although the preexisting shingle roof on the home I had recently purchased was fairly new, I noticed issues: starter course lined with first course, loose wall flashing, no drip edge, porch gutter leaks.

At the site visit, James inspected and informed me of other issues: reused / improperly installed / insufficient flashing, no underlayment. He suggested reasonable options to extend the roof's life without a full replacement: ice & water, seamless gutter, drip edge, replaced flashing, added counterflashing, Maxi 301 vents. In addition, before the work started, I noticed the downspouts had split open at the back, and I realized I needed a bathroom exhaust vent.

Once started, a new issue was identified: a previous owner hadnt removed the older shingles (this explains the reused flashing), but had removed the first course to disguise this fact (!). This naturally extended the time (and budget) for the work.

Throughout the project, everyone on the crew was courteous and ready to answer a question. The site is clean as if they werent here! They used tarps under scaffolding, plywood over AC, magnet to collect stray metal, leaf blower to clear asphalt granules from windows sills, etc.

James answered any questions with great clarity and care to a proper solution (whether about flashing profiles, insulation, etc.), and has a very capable crew. I will definitely contact James next time I need a roofer.

Horrible. I hired them to do my snow removal (they do that in winter). They damaged my driveway (march 2014) and have been a nightmare to deal with in order to have driveway returned to its original condition, driveway was only 6 months old. At this point probably gonna be heading to court with him.

The roof I just had replaced on my high-ranch bungalow was only ten years old and was completely shot. I found out the hard way that I had nothing in the way of a warranty, even though they were 30-year BP shingles. Needless to say, this time around I was much more diligent in my research for a new roof, and paid special attention to the warranty details. I chose Kluke’s Roofing and Owens Corning Duration shingles because Kluke’s is a certified Owens Corning installer, which makes the warranty outstanding. By using a certified installer, I get a 50-year, non prorated warranty that covers pretty much everything including removal and disposal of the faulty roof, and covers material and installation costs of the replacement roof, and if I sell my house, it’s transferrable. Note that if you go with a non-certified contractor, you get a 10-year prorated warranty that is pretty much useless, so certification of the installer is important.

Klukes wasn’t the highest of the quotes, nor were they the lowest, but they were reasonable, knowledgeable, and again, certified. They showed up on time, worked very hard, and did an excellent job of my new roof. It looks amazing, and I have piece of mind that I have a rock solid warranty. I would recommend them to anyone, and in fact, I already have to several neighbors and coworkers.

In 2008, I hired Kluke's to replace the sheathing and shingles on a 2-storey house with a Mansard roof. The work was not easy, and they performed it reasonably well.
HOWEVER they did not clean up the job site properly. Despite my warning them that there was a baby and a toddler at the address, they left the lawn littered with hundreds of sharp bits of sheet metal, not to mention nails and bits of asphalt and plastic. I had to clean the site myself for the safety of the children, and was very disappointed.
Another point worth mentioning is that although they agreed to do the work in mid-summer, they announced delay after delay, and didn't arrive on site until mid November.

Kluke's did an excellent job about three years ago on our roof - we decided to do 40 year shingles and they did some extra venting and repairs in our garage. We've had no problem unlike some of our neighbours since the work was done. Clean, tidied up.
