Moving company

You should avoid this company! Their truck broke down the morning of our move. They told us it would take until 2 p.m. to fix, but then they showed up unannounced at 10:30. One of the two movers took smoking breaks every 10-20 minutes and was throwing our stuff in a pile in our new apartment. It took them 7 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment (apartments about 2 km apart), and two trips with a 20-26' truck (no appliances!) Had to pay the movers cash on the spot - no credit cards or interac. It cost me $800!! Tried two times to get in touch with the owner afterwards and he ignored my calls (even though the secretary was convinced that something would be done to make it right). Completely irresponsible, disrespectful and horrible customer service.

Easy Move that cost a fortune

I used these guys 3 times in the past and their pricing and work was awesome. So I decided to hire them again for the fourth time. I made an appointment about 1 month and a half ago in advance. So I had thought they would be at my place at 12:00pm and I guess there was some miss understanding and no one at the company called me to confirmed. The driver asked me if I was drunk last night meaning that I forgot about them. I barely drink at all and he also asked me if someone called me the day before to confirm and I told him no. He told me that he will have to charge me extra and I said fine. He drove back to my place and started to check out my place. I barely had anything. I sold off most of my things and the only things I had left was a 2 mattresses, about 10 boxes, a computer chair, engine hoist, a mechanic tool and that it..I moved every boxes to the first floor so it would be easier for them to get to them. An easy move for them. They had to move me from Stittsville (Maple Groove and Huntmar) to Primo Storage on Moodie Drive, So it took them at least one hour to move my things into the truck. So I asked him what type of payment do you prefer since I had a VALID credit card and the driver says to me cash only since we had an misunderstanding about time at the beginning so I agreed. So I stopped at some ATM machine on the way to the storage and I tried taking out $500.00 but those cheap ATM machine in those gas station had a $400.00 max withdrawals. So I thought $400.00 would of been ok since the last time I hired them they moved me from Bathgate (Montreal rd) to Stittsville (Maple Groove and Huntmar) a year ago with a full appartment and it only cost me $400.00. So I thought it was ok right? wrong. When I got there I forgot the key to my locker and the storage employee couldn't break the lock that I just purchased the day before. My girlfriend had to drive back to our place and grabbed the key for the lock. While my girlfriend was gone I told the movers to unload my things in front of the storage door and I will take care of the rest.
So it took them about 28 minutes to unload and the driver gave me the bill. it was close to $600.00. I was kinda disappointed and puzzled and gave him the $400.00 I had on me and i asked him if he had an interact machine and he said yes and he told me the battrey was dead.
I then gave him my VALID credit card. So the driver called his dispatch so they can valid my card so we can finally complete the transaction and what do you know his dispatcher didn't answered. So that means that the clock was still ticking.. So my girlfriend was gone and I was car less. So I hop into his truck and we drove down the road where a gas station was present. The ATM machine was out of service. I was pissed. He then drove me to a RBC about 10 minutes drive and my card wouldn't work. That ATM machine I went earlier messed up my card I could take out anything, I have a $1000.00 per day that I could withdraw. So we went back to the storage and they waited for my girlfriend to come back and she did take some money out. So the clock was ticking. The driver tells me to give them (2 other movers) a good tip. In my head I was saying this crap if getting better and better. I asked the driver how much should I give them. He tells me that I shouldn't even had to ask him since it's and insult to do so. Like I hired them to move my things not to negotiate tips?????? My girlfriend arrived I gave the driver another $320.00 and they were on their way. They offered to help me move my things into the storage but I was so pissed at them that I didn't want to deal with them anymore. I wanted them to go....

It wasn't my fault that their dispatcher didn't answer the phone to take my credit card. I deal with credit cards all the time and for me this is kinda of a way to make more money...(CASH GRAB).

So I had to pay extra for their mistakes!!!

Moving my furniture

DO NOT HIRE THEM! They lost my Madshu cross country skis, valued at over $500, and refuse to return my calls now or cover the loss!! When I contacted them, they said initially they couldn't remember the move despite the fact that they broke a box of liquids on the stairs that my husband and I spent 4 hours cleaning up during the move. They then said they would look in the warehouse but somehow couldn't find the key for awhile. Two weeks later, they still haven't gotten back to me despite several attempts to contact them. I finally went to their address to confront them about this matter only to discover that their address listed on Invoice #1168 is a bogus address. The address is listed as 1600 Michael in Ottawa but the older lady who answered the door said they had moved two years previously to the Gatineau side! I will be reporting them to Better Business Bureau as well.

Moving

These guys came in right on time. 3 men, went directly upstairs with supervisor to see what needed to be moved, and on their way down picked things up, not to waste time, as we were paying by the hour. This was the hottest day of the summer, yet, they never stopped. Taking note of hardwood stairs that needed to be covered up, etc. Although, I had done the packing myself, there was not one thing that was scratched or broken. They were also very friendly.

$750.00
