DriveWatch Security comes off as a very dishonest company who would resort to anything, it seems, to get their money. My encounter with an employee of DriveWatch was when he booted my vehicle at the TD Bank parking lot.
He refused to take off the boot on my car unless I paid $95, even though there was no legitimate reason to boot it. 5 Minutes previous to this, I ran across the street to Scotia Bank and was on my way into the TD Bank when I realized I had a ticket and a boot on my car. I was then in the process of calling the phone number on the Ticket I was approached by a Man in a Yellow Jacket. When I asked why I have been booted when I am a customer of the TD bank and was going into it. He made up a story that the cameras on the building are watching the parking lot and they call DriveWatch when ever they see people who are not suppose to be parked in the lot. He told me they are cracking down on people now. That he did me a favor because I could have been towed instead. He then informed me that when ever I am ready to pay the $95, that he would be in his truck.
As I approached the truck there were two men in the vehicle and the passenger of the vehicle was laughing while watching me. I knocked on the window to realize that the two men where smoking in the truck. I paid the Ticket. The passenger of the vehicle stepped out to take the boot off my car. As he walked over to my vehicle I noticed he was wearing dirty sweat pants and had a cigarette in his mouth. He removed the boot while smoking a cigarette. Which I find very unprofessional at best.
I didn't go into the TD Bank when I was finished with my troubles. I was disgusted that DriveWatch Employees would make up things and treat me with such disrespect just to make his $95. What's worse still is that he is not accountable to anyone and is getting away with his extortion and untruths.
