February of this year the 6 year old fridge wasn't cooling. A local technician came, ran diagnostics and determine the evaporator coils had a leak. He recommended calling whirlpool since the part should be under warranty. It was. Unfortunately, Lincoln Appliance service had to take on the warranty call. I sent them the report from the technician and they came out with the new coils. They disagreed with the technician and replaced the compressor. I was charged 390 plus tax.
June of this year, same issue with the fridge. Lincoln technician comes, can't find the leak, recharges the system with fluid and states "this is only a bandaid". I was charged 220 for that call.
In the meantime, I contacted whirlpool and sent them my receipts. They compared that to the invoice they were sent from Lincoln. According to the invoice, they changed the Evaporator back in February and changed the compressor. After much back and forth, Lincoln finally admitted to whirlpool that they did not infact change the Evaporator. In July of this year, Lincoln came back and determined.....wait for it...... that the Evaporator coils were leaking. They tried to charge me $390 again, luckily I contacted Whirpool and fought that.
Ultimately, if they changed the part like they said they did, I wouldn't be out 200 plus dollars for a bandaid (they refuse to respond to my inquiries about a refund, fortunately I have a lawyer who will take this on in small claims for no cost)
Avoid this company at all costs. If you must deal with them, document everything and keep copies.
