Migson Public Storage

A change in management and staff at the Gerrard Street location has proven horrid. My rental unit monthly fee was increased with no notice. After an argument on the phone, I learned I was sent an email. I have repeatedly asked to not be communicated with by email, clearly to no avail. I have asked for my statements to be mailed, which suddenly ended with the staff change. I have been dismissed, condescended to, and hung up on by both male employees when on the phone, attempting to have questions answered. I would have been fired from jobs had my customer service manner been so appalling.

I have had two storage lockers with Migson Public storage in Toronto, ON since August 2015, no issues until recently with a change in management and staff. My rent on my unit was increased by 70% with no notification, simply a demand of payment was requested up from the regular $279 + taxes to $479 + taxes a month.

I called the office, when speaking with Gary (employee at Bertrand location) he explained that it is not his job, he had no time to discuss my billing change with no notification, he suggested I was at fault for this billing change, and that it would have to be 15 years ago for me to be paying $279. Gary came of rude and aggressive over the phone, so I requested to speak with management or an owner.

I spoke with Shawn (Management at the Gerrard location), at first he told me I have always been paying $479 that was final, he emailed me an invoice of this (August 2017) month's request of $573, he told me I could have never been paying $279.

I emailed back and requested a copy of all my previous invoices. Gary emailed me back my invoices up to December 2016 and the invoices show that I have been paying $279. I requested staff to rectify this billing issue because the rate I am being charged is not the rate agreed upon the contract.

Gary calls me back and tells me that management has recently changed and that my rent is going to be $479. I explain that this is not the agreed upon contract rate, and that I have had no notification of this price change. Gary tells me he doesn't have time, he says I have been notified and he is not going to fight with me, so I request to speak with management.

I speak with Shawn and he explains that they have being doing me a favor by charging me $279, he kept mentioning a gift horse analogy, and that $479 was a good rate. When asked what kind of notification was sent as to the price increase he simply told me I was notified.

My personal feelings about these two individuals I have encountered at Migson Public Storage recently are that they seem dishonest, they're actions and statements poorly represent the company.

Good storeage when needed. Polite and accommodating. Everything was looked after well. It was a short distance from where I needed to organize things at the time. Information well provided when needed.

I'm glad I chose this place to storage my house contents during a move. Staff were super helpful and the place was extremely clean and very easy to get in and out of my unit. Also reasonably priced!

Stay away from this company they are missleading customers with their late fees, offers of a free month that they then charge you for it .When you ask for a breakdown of fees they take months to send it to you after promising that they will send it.When you receive your breakdown there are many mystery charges that make no sense. ...........Avoid

I have been a customer of Migson Public Storage for about 5 years now. The best thing about them is their staff who are very cooperative and courteous and stored things with great care. I could easily access them and they provide clean and hygienic environment. Their service is fully reliable and never gave me a reason to complain. I will recommend Migson Storage to anyone who needs a storage unit.

I've been using Migson Public Storage for 6 months now. The service is great, the place is very clean which is a very important factor for me. The price was affordable considering the location. I'll keep using them for another 3 months before moving to my own place.
