With this particular case the Customer was building a duplex where its classified as New Home Construction.. With the scopes of our work and the customers contracts we have two different invoicing stages where we request 50% after RI and the remaining 50% after the Duct work.Every heating contractor classifies the completion of a RI consists of running all Supply/Return Air Runs are stubbed into he basement , Bath fans installed, Furnace Hung, and exterior hoods installed for the builder to continue with Sealing up the houses exterior with siding and internally conceal everything with Drywall.. There was one issue where we were needing to run the Range exhaust up through the roof as the location of the stove limited us only being able to do one way.. The homeowner kept on mentioning that he werent complete becuase the range wasnt ran the way he wanted to.. Also after explaining it to him that the way he wished for it to be run was a major fired hazard and he would have to sign a release form if he chose to run it his way. Also After having to meet up with Jeff onsite we had to explain that his version of not having the Main floor ( RI) stuff complete is essentially the reason of him not having the ground works done( plumbing) , sand poured , and even not having the concrete in the basement.. This stage for us in all construction is what we and all other heating contractors classify as our Duct work Stages.. Once this is done we go in to Drop the furnace and connect all the RI line into the basement.. Once this was pointed out to Jeff and the General Contractor payment was made on the account... Thanks
