In my quest to buy an older home in a good neighbourhood I've long hoped to move into, I knew I needed an inspector who would give me the straight goods: no BS, thorough, knowledgeable, and completely on my side. I found all these qualities and more in Ted. We spent 6 hours in the house I offered on, checking every nook and cranny. Ted calmly explained everything in layman's terms, offering suggestions and solutions along the way. The next day, Ted delivered his custom report and sat down with me for couple more hours to go over it in detail. Now his report (sample available on his website) may look "homemade", but I assure you it's worth its weight in gold. I do not believe Ted's here to "pass" or "fail" the house; rather, he makes sure you have everything you need to make an INFORMED decision by laying out the pros and cons of the house in a matter-of-fact way. You will not find hysterics and scare tactics here. In my case, because I'm not afraid to do some work, I proceeded with the purchase of the house but was able to negotiate some price reduction, armed with Ted's findings. Now that I've moved into the house and have begun doing repairs and upgrades, Ted's report continues to serve as an invaluable guide for me to plan and budget based on priority. No one should skimp on home inspection when you're dealing with what easily can be the biggest financial investment of your life (especially in the Metro Vancouver area!), and I wholeheartedly recommend Ted to anyone who agrees.

Karen, thanks for your rather comprehensive endorsement.
When you get to those larger projects contact me, as you can appreciate; I can't spell out all your repair options in a report.
Thanks,Ted
