Home Inspection

Ted is a skilled and conscientious inspector who is very knowledgeable about the home construction industry. He takes the time to thoroughly inspect a home and ensure that his clients are educated on the nuances of his findings, whether they relate to deficiencies or future maintenance efforts. Our search for a home took place over a number of years, and despite the many options for home inspection services in the market, we never doubted that Ted was the best. During this time, we engaged Ted’s services for three home inspections and found him to be an individual of high integrity who we could count on to be our trusted advisor. A home purchase is a complex and significant financial transaction – having access to reliable and credible information is invaluable. We now have our home and have greatly appreciated Ted’s assistance on the journey.

Approximate cost of services:
$900.00

Company Response

Hi Roger,
When people enter the housing market; basically they choose houses on rather superficial criteria compared to the critical eye of experience. The inspection process is an educational introduction to housing construction methods, a bit of science and material and component performance. That's where the fun comes in, we do discover and discuss the anomalies, consequences and remedial action required to bring you and your home up to speed.
Most houses can be fixed, it’s simply a matter of time and money, in some cases these 2 factors can overwhelm your resources. Walking away from a problem house is not a waste of the inspection fee it's an investment in your future, health and welfare.
From what you said; you have no regrets after 3 houses- 2 failures- 3 very different houses that required hands-on investigation- I demonstrated why the 1st 2 homes were not suitable for you (for almost anybody) and you are satisfied.
For anyone who might be reading this: Please, please, please: do not let your agent include a $1000 clause in your purchase contract. The worst part: it’s your agent’s clever deceit to include this device to prevent you from weaseling out of the deal unfettered. Looks and sounds innocent but it is not. What it does represent is your agent's desperation to have you purchase a house and as soon as possible.
