Window Renovation

After an extensive evaluation process, we chose All Weather Windows for our home renovation and I can best describe our experience as "Best in Class". The All Weather Windows team were fantastic from Peter our sales rep, to Scott, Chris, and Rod our installation team, to Tonya the installation Coordinator. They were very professional in their communication and delivered nothing less than I expected, which sums it all up as "Great Value". I would strongly recommend All Weather Windows without hesitation for your future needs!

Window and Door Installation

We hired All Weather Windows to replace 13 windows, and 3 doors on our home. The process began well, with Jackie coming out to measure our windows for an estimate. Unfortunately, problems began to arise on the first day we met the All Weather Windows contractor who would be responsible for installing our windows. The contractor (Matt) missed our initial measurement appointment, and eventually showed up several hours after I contacted him on the phone. He said that he was at a birthday party, and had forgotten about the appointment. After the measurements were completed, we were scheduled for a 3 day window/door installation.

Matt showed up on the first day of the installation at noon. He said that he lost his phone charger, and had a falling out with his business partner who had taken his work trailer. Over the next 3 days, Matt left a 25ft Uhaul parked in front of our house, broken glass on our deck and patio, and a pile of old broken windows and doors on our front and back yard. At 2pm on the 3rd day of the installation, Matt told us that he would not be able to finish on time and would have to come back for a fourth day (Saturday) to finish the installation.

On Saturday (day 4/3) Matt returned to remove the garbage and to "finish off all of the windows" (with the exception of the entryway). After packing up the garbage, Matt left for the dump at noon. He returned at 5pm, worked for 2 hours, and said that he would have to finish the rest the following Saturday (1 week later).

After leaving our unfinished windows exposed to the weather (no silicone, no drip cap) for a week, Matt returned on Saturday (Aug 10th) to "finish the job". After working all day, Matt said that he would need to return on Sunday to finish the job. He said he had another job in the morning, and his Grandma's birthday dinner at 5:00pm.

After Matt returned to our house (Sunday, 3:30pm), 2 of our neighbours showed up furious that Matt had been speeding around the the block, around their kids. After working for a few more hours, Matt let us know that he did not have the right materials, and would need to return on Monday to "finish the job".

On Monday, Matt finally finished the window installation. He said that he normally does a better job cleaning up afterwards, but was pressed for time, so he "did the best that he could". After he left, we found more broken glass surrounding some of the new windows (inside and outside).

Ultimately we are unhappy with the window installation process that All Weather Windows provided. We had been told initially that the job would take 3 full days, and it ended up taking 7 full days of installation spanning almost 2 weeks. Our house was left messy, with broken glass around our doors and on our lawn. Our neighbours are unhappy with us because of the actions of one of your contractors. We are still waiting for a credit from All Weather Windows (Jory) to repair the drywall around our entryway.

Your experience with All Weather Windows will only be as good as the contractor who does the installation. No doubt they have many competent, and considerate installation crews, but we were not fortunate enough to have one. We do not know if we will have warranty issues as a result of the installation down the road, but we are hoping for the best.

windows and doors

This summer (August 2013) we ordered 5 windows and 3 doors from All Weather Windows (Edmonton). We are very happy with the service so far. The salesperson Ray was knowledgeable and honest. Window installer Bill was very good at what he does. Door installers did a good job as well. They worked very carefully and cleaned up well. Our doors were measured incorrectly initially, due to a previous incorrect installation. The installers offered to order new frames with correct measurements at no cost to us. They really stand behind their work. Even with a delay with doors, they still made it in time. The only small issue - caulking smells big time for about 3 days after installation. I would advise the company to let customers know in advance (even though it seems to be obvious, but you never know until you do it first time), so that they can plan their life accordingly. My husband had to sleep in a different apartment for 3 days before the smell was gone. I was away. My conclusion - I would not do it in winter. In summer I can at least open my windows wide. We are planning to go back to this company next year and continue replacing the rest of the windows. I can not comment much on the quality of windows. They definitely look nice! But the time will tell how well they perform.

Replacement of living room and dining room windows

This is a review for All Weather Windows Renovations Edmonton (not Calgary). I found mold and rotting wood under living room window when I pulled up my living room carpet during home reno (I was preparing to install hardwood flooring). When I found mold on the subfloor I removed the drywall under the window and I found mold and wood rot in the wall supporting the window. I spoke to our neighbours who said the previous owner had previously replaced the window. I knew there were some major problems and I needed to get this fixed right. I called Tim Wong, sales rep, with All Weather Windows because he had given us great service before. He came to our home only a day or two after we called, provided us some advice and very helpful design ideas. Based on service and past good experience with AWWR, we decided to make the order . Replacement windows were delivered in about a month after the order (don't remember exactly how long). Dan and his install team were on-site for a day. They were very careful and meticulous with their work. Dan and his crew are mostly from the maritimes - remind me of folks from my home province of Saskatchewan. Hard working, friendly, and you can tell they take pride in their work. The exterior and interior quality of workmanship are excellent. The window units themselves are great. Wife and I are very happy with the final product. It has been a major update to the look of our home.

New Window Installation

Approximately 9 months ago I purchased all new windows to replace the existing windows in my house. The initial service from the sales person and then the installers was exceptional. I have now gone through a winter and summer and can say the product is all that is advertised. I am very satisfied with All Weather Windows and would not hesitate to refer them to others.
