On August 2009, I hired movers I found on a local classified website. They had a really cheap rate. I asked them about hidden charges and they explained everything.
On the day of the move, after they loaded the truck and took a $500 deposit, they asked for triple the amount agreed on before. They didn't tell me the truth about the hidden charges. They threatened to leave the furniture on the driveway if I didn't pay the rest of the money. I refused to be scammed and I asked them to put the furniture on my driveway. While they were doing that I called "No Problem Movers" which I found on Google. I was desperate to have a quality moving company take over my move at that time.
No Problem Movers quoted double the hourly rate of the cheap company. They said they could have a truck within 45 minutes at my address. Sure enough, the truck showed up on time with two professional looking strong guys. They didn't ask for any money up front and they accepted credit cards.
Because I missed my booked elevator time at the destination, No Problem Movers offered to store my furniture inside their truck at their location until the next morning.
The next morning, as promised, they showed up right on time and the move was completed very professionally.
Despite making two separate bills for the two days of travel plus a storage fee, "No Problem Movers" ended up being cheaper than the other "cheap" moving company.
They handled everything very professionally and they were very speedy too. I wish I had signed up with them from the beginning.
As a consumer, I always look for the best price. But in this situation, the best price was choosing the better company with more experience.
I highly recommend this company to anyone who is considering moving.
If you like your furniture and you don't want to be scammed, choose a quality company such as "No Problem Movers." Even with a higher price, you'll end up paying less money and your furniture will stay in good shape.
