Had a bathtub faucet leak. Technician said it was a canister problem but because the faucet was over 10 years old, couldn't find a canister to replace so recommended a total change out that would have cost $650 not including the cost of the faucet and canister. I found a canister on Amazon, ordered it, and than they came back and put it in. Soon after the faucet was leaking again. Second technician came out and said had to replace whole thing as canister had failed (because Amazon stuff is unreliable).and of course it 'wasn't their fault). I found another plumber who determined it was not a canister problem - the springs and seats needed replacing (a minor problem and only pennies to replay except for the call out cost of course). Hasn't leaked since.
