New Home Purchase

Kelly our Sales Consultant is a delight to work with! My wife and I don’t think we could say enough great things about Kelly. She is a thorough professional, knowledgeable, and takes the time to fully meet your requirements. The exceptional advice started when I first spoke to Kelly. She gave some fantastic suggestions to maximize the space while being sensitive to budget. Kelly went above and beyond to meet some of our custom change requirements. She has great insight in interpreting our vision and worked with us to bring the vision to life. She is very patient in answering all the questions and giving great advice.

Interior designer and lighting experts, Katie and Danielle were very helpful in suggesting the decor and lighting requirements for our home. Their suggestions and insight gave us a new perspective. I say they have a unique perspective of helping and understanding the requirements of their clients. They never rushed the process they took their time in discussing the pros and cons of each item.

Thank you, Daytona for making our experience so incredible and having a great team

I highly recommend Kelly, Katie, and Danielle.

We are excited about the construction.

Daytona continues to impress

We purchased our Daytona home 5 years ago, our first ever home purchase, and we continue to receive top notch support even now. From day one, any issues we had were resolved with excellent support. Small things like screw pops, or minor fixes, we have taken care of ourselves as we knew to expect some of them. All the big things, Daytona has rectified for us without question and there were very few.

We are so thankful our first house purchase has been such a good one as this is our FOREVER home. THANK YOU Daytona for making our experience so incredible. Shawna D - our sales rep, Nate T - our site super, and Chris - our warranty rep, have all made our experience such a pleasant one. If you're looking for your FOREVER home - go with Daytona!

Over promise, under deliver

Daytona Homes: where quality work is NOWHERE to be found.
We recently purchased a new home from Daytona Homes, and even though we enjoyed the sales experience and team, our enjoyment was short-lived once taking possession.

We noted a few significant deficiencies on our initial home walk-through before taking possession. 1) The Laundry room counter was installed incorrectly through a broken and cracked washer box, making access to the water shut-offs impossible and left an unnecessary circular hole in the counter top. 2) We also questioned why the bulkhead and sub ceiling in the garage were not level and were sloped towards the middle of the room. In response to our concerns, the Daytona "superintendent" informed us that because the laundry counter was a “last-minute change order” (which it was not, it was in the sales contract), they would not move/fix the counter or washer box. Also, the un-level sloped ceiling " was specifically engineered to be that way”.

After moving into the home we began noticing a number of other deficiencies we had not caught during our walk-though. We have excessive screw pops and drywall corner moulding cracking throughout the home. It was so bad we had a tradesperson come in saying, "your house must have been built on a Friday before a long weekend" and "they have never seen so many drywall repairs after only 30 days”. Our bathroom light fixtures flickered like seizure inducing strobe lights and we needed to replace all of the bulbs twice. We had a smashed window upon move in that had occurred months before our possession date and was not fixed until we moved in, and then another window cracked a few weeks into our ownership. We have creaking subfloors under our laminate in the kitchen and under the carpet in our third bedroom. Our ceramic tiles were cracked in the main bathroom and laundry room. Our bath tub was scratched and chipped in multiple locations. Our entry way floor had a staple sticking up from under the laminate on which I cut my foot. Our main floor walls have been framed poorly, (or the flooring has been installed poorly) causing a noticeable 3" difference in the flooring from one side of the room to the other. Then to top it off our furnace has lost heat four times throughout the winter (We have lived here for 3 months) and every time it is “fixed” the repair person says "not to worry it won't happen again….."

After 30 days of living in the home, we had our first warranty appointment with a Daytona Representative. He was shocked at the number of issues we were having with the house but getting all of the defects fixed has been a struggle. Specifically, getting someone to fix the garage ceiling which was literally falling down, was awful as none of the trades wanted to take ownership and was only rectified once I contacted the sales team.

We have had a constant stream of tradespeople coming through our door to fix the never-ending deficiencies that we can see. We are very concerned about the quality of craftsmanship in this home and can only imagine the problems we cannot see hidden behind our walls. Our neighbours have similar problems too and I think Daytona is under the impression that neighbours don't talk.

We have reached our breaking point. We emailed the warranty team requesting for a manager to contact us and we still haven't heard a thing…6 days and counting.

We do not recommend Daytona Homes. because they have taken our positive sales experience and turned it into a complete nightmare that we are forced to wake up to every day. Seriously, look elsewhere, its awful.

One final note, the shingles have now begun to blow off the roof as well.

Hi Jay, thank you for sharing your experience on purchasing a Daytona inventory home when it was at cabinet installation stage. Our three-storey product does tend to have more drywall repairs due to the increased settlement from the additional weight of the extra storey. Our warranty team has been in to remedy your concerns, and we have followed up and learned that our warranty superintendent is still actively working with you and you have spoken to our warranty manager. Your comments have been communicated to them and they will be reaching out.

New Build by Daytona, multi family building

We purchased a triplex from Daytona Homes in Edmonton. It was great pleasure to work with the knowledgeable and respectful Sales Manager. The whole team is very friendly and customer service oriented. The floor plans, designs of the multi family building are practical, functional, modern and up to the high profile tenants' expectations. It is a turn key investment for us, a truly great long-term hold. We plan to work with Daytona in near future on expanding our real estate portfolio.

Shoddy workmanship and unwillingness to repair

Our Daytona home is less than 5 years old. Another piece of our fascia falls off the house every time it rains. 4 other daytona homes on our crescent have the same issue. Daytona will accept no responsibility.

$560,000.00

Hi Diane. Siding and fascia is covered for one year, in alignment with Alberta New Home Warranty. Beyond that timeframe, as our warranty team mentioned during your contact last week, it is up to the homeowner to ensure that they are performing regular maintenance on their home. We would be happy to recommend trades to you to complete any repairs that are outside of warranty.

We LOVE our new home!

Right from the beginning of our home
Buying journey, we have been very impressed with Daytona homes. Our Sales associate Steve has been very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process. He was able to give us the exact home we were looking for to accommodate our growing family. Steve was also able to Recommend an amazing mortgage broker who helped us navigate the current economic circus that is COVID-19. Every meeting with Steve was exciting and informative. He was able to answer all of our questions in a timely manner and we felt we could contact him at an time and he would be there for us. Even after the sale was finalized, Steve remained constant in our building experience. We still talk to him today , even after we moved into our home!
Allison was amazing at our design appointment. She was very sweet and helpful in the design process. She used her expertise to guide us in the right direction to create a beautiful, stylish new home.
After some production issues and a misunderstand with a product in our home.
Katie came through huge. Katie resolved the issue for us and really ensured that the whole process ended up going seamless.
We really appreciate Daytona for being a homeBuilder that does what is RIGHT for their clients vs what is easy. It’s easy for a company to stop caring once they get their money, but Daytona never faultered.
Ultimately, this whole process has been very seamless and positive and I would recommend Daytona Homes to all of my friends and family. We are excited to see our home evolve with our family. Thank you Daytona!!

Not a company to rely on when you are looking for quality.

The sale people where very helpful, When is comes to explaining and walk through great company. They promised to do my grading and it has been more than 11/2 year nothing has been done. No one replies to phone calls. Blames the city yet when I called the city they told me it takes 5 business days. Once they make the sale they don't care about their customers.
