Dan's Discount Windows & Doors

This was a nightmare. Do not trust Dave B!
I ordered 42 custom windows from Dans. Dave promised they would be installed in 6 to 8 weeks max. Timeline was very important for this project. The windows took almost a year to be installed, although they were in stock since the 6th week! This company take much more jobs than it can handle, and locks customers with an advance of 50%, which covers more than the price of the materials. The installation was so poorly done that I had to hire another company to fix the problems which was in total more costly than hiring a honest company. Dave did not return my calls.
Finally, the quality of Dan's windows is significantly below other manufacturers, which costs are not much more expensive than Dan's.
Avoid this dis-honest company!

This was a nightmare! I had Dans Windows and Doors replacing 42 of my windows. I met with Dave B. Who seemed very nice at the time, and promised the windows would be replaced in 6 to 8 weeks. It took almost a year to have the work partially completed. The job was so poorly done I had to have another guy finishing the work. Despite my calls and emails, Dave did not respond to my inquiries to have the windows fixed, and he even admitted that they book more than what they can process. And as we have to pay 50% upfront, it more than covers the price of the windows. When I pay 20K, I expect the company to be somewhat on time, and do a good job. But this was a nightmare.

We recently looked to replace all sliding closet doors in our house. Dans was by far the cheapest and was the same quality as all home improvement stores. And Dan's had all the sizes right out on the show room floor.

We needed a new front door for our 6yr old home because the people who built the house used brass fittings and inlays on the door while the house has all pewter fixtures. We had been previously quoted almost $5000 by a contractor to replace the door, frame and sills because he said that there is no way you could just replace the door. Apparently he said that a new door would not fit in an existing frame. We had been to several other places to get a quote on just replacing our door to no avail. We could not even get people to email us a quote. Finally we went to Dan's and talked to who I assume is "Dan" himself, who told us, no, we should be able to just buy a standard stock door and hinges for $300 and install it ourselves and it should fit just fine. He was right. Our new door fits perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone. He not only saved us a ton of money but actually knew what he was talking about.

I needed a new window for my kitchen. The sales person was very helpful in getting me the dimensions of the frame. I wanted to put the window in from the outside without removing the casing, so this was critical. The price was also very good. I found it to be significantly lower than two big box stores and two local manufacturers that I priced. The window fit well and my wife (more importantly) loves it!

I bought 2 steel doors for $7 less than Home Depot. Asked guy @ counter if I could exchange if size was off & he said "yes". No mention of restocking fee until I tried to exchange one of the doors for a slightly smaller one. Was told that I had to pay 30% restocking fee for a straight exchange & that it's noted on my invoice. True it is on the invoice, but the customer doesn't see that until the product has already been paid for. All exterior & interior doors as well as all windows in my house need to be replaced. I can say for sure that I won't be buying them from Dan's Discount Windows and Doors and I suggest other people steer clear as well.

We purchased a set of garden door and windows from Dan's, after hearing about amazing deals. we ordered custom window inserts for the doors, which came in after 3 week delays TWICE... we took time off work to pick them up and found out that they were not even the windows we ordered. Dan, and the help at the counter actually laughed at us and asked us what our problem was. 'What was another week wait". We had been patient and friendly for 8 weeks already.
We later found the exact same doors at home depot for 600$ cheaper, and canceled our order for the custom inserts. We found that the frame our door was in was twisted, (from the manufacturer) and may need to replace the door already.
Although you MAY find an occasional deal.... I wouldn't recommend this place to someone at all.
