The stove was taking about 20 minutes to heat up to the right temperature. We called Bayview Home Appliance Centre Ltd. 16 Sims Cres. Unit 21 Richmond Hill ON L4B 2P1
August 29th your serviceman came out, and said that the Broil was OK but the ignitor needed. to be replaced (as per invoice) We paid $73.45 for the service call..
August 30th Stove worked OK , so we cancelled the next appointment.
A week and a half later the old problem reappeared so we called the serviceman and asked him to come back with a new ignitor.
The Serviceman came back, was there for approx 2 1/1 hours and replaced the ignitor. It appeared to my husband and I he did not know what he was doing ( he didn’t even know how to remove the bottom oven-drawer my husband had to figure it out).
After replacing the ignitor he said he wanted to test the control panel, however by the time he was finished my control panel was completely dead and nothing worked on the stove including the broiler. He then proceeded to tell me that he was unsure of what he had just done but that I now needed a new control panel & sensor. I told him I was not comfortable with what had just happened & I wanted him to put back my original ignitor.
I called your office and another serviceman was sent, to see if they could fix the control panel that the previous serviceman had damaged. The serviceman was very careful not to comment & informed me he could do nothing to reconnect my control panel.
I then called Sears service, $88.09 for the service call. They informed me that the ignitor in my stove was not the original ... in other words your service person had not put back my original ignitor & the one in place was not the original, and that my control panel was damaged ... but the source of the problem was most likely the sensor based on the original problem reported.
The control panel was damaged at a cost of $200.99 and replacement cost for the ignitor was $80.99. The actual cost should have been only for the sensor, $20.99 plus tax & the service call $88.09, totaling $111.80. My bill from Sears was $518.27. Your serviceman cost us $406.47 and left us without an oven for 2 weeks.
Your company needs to reimburse us for the original service call of $73.45 plus additional damages, of $406.79 totaling $479.92. I have attached the original bill from your serviceman along with the Sears bill.
We have sent this complaint On September 30th and October 9 2008. We have received no response as of Oct 15 2008.
