New home construction

Careful... after you sign on the dotted line all the niceties go out the window. We spent 18 months at the financial mercy of Danielle A of Axiom Homes. Thank goodness we made it to the end of our project long before the inevitable implosion. Our build happened during more prosperous times when customer service was a thing of the past. She was as professional as she was patronizing which is probably a good thing when dealing with trades, but not so great for customers! We got what we wanted in the end, but we may as well have done the project management ourselves for the time we invested in things that she should have been on top of. It got to the point where the biggest barrier to completion was having to step over her all the time in order to get things accomplished. It's a good thing we were around most days.

Home Construction

My husband and I are in the same position as the people that posted on October 28th. We've been fooled by Axiom as well and already have numerous liens on our property even though we have paid all our invoices to Axiom. Fortunately, we started our build last August and our house is pretty much ready to move into other than some light fixtures missing and some painting needing to be finished. We've heard the same story that Axiom has fired all their staff and closed their Edmonton office and emails and voicemail messages go unanswered. Anybody considering leaving a message for this company to become a new client - BEWARE - they are scam artists!

New Home Construction

I to am/was an Axiom Client who as well just recently paid nearly $70,000.00 in ivoices prior to us getting our keys. Axiom's contract states ALL invoices to be paid until they hand the keys over. We were stupid and listened and paid. Now we have leins on our property not knowing what to do. We fulfilled our contract and are stuck with trades looking for their money which Axiom has in their possesion. No one knows where they are and they will not accept or return calls. Do we pay twice? Are we liable somehow? I feel extremely bad for the trades but Axiom also has our so called refundable float of $15,000.00 in which we ALL can kiss goodbye, so as a Client, we are out as well. Who knows if they were adding material and overcharging on their invoices. Is this an expensive lesson learned? Their address in Calgary leads right to a sporting promotional outfit, check it out, its called Drive Sportswear and Promotions.....the addresses are identical from the Axiom website. I sure hope this is a big misunderstanding and they needed some time to regroup and get their s#%t together. I guess we have to hope for the best and not think of the worst.

New Home Building Disaster

WARNING!!!!!!! This builder came highly recommended shortly after the article that was printed in the Edmonton Journal January 2008. But like many young companies they expanded quickly and broadly without the scope of good, experienced help. My wife and I have endured over 11 months of delays, excuses, more excuses and now the first lien on our property although all invoices are paid up to date. Danielle Addington and her husband Lyle are not to be trusted whatsoever. If there is any doubt as to the credibility of these accusations simply contact any of these suppliers or trades people that are waiting to receive payment from them: EDI Electric, Always Plumbing, EMCO, Westridge Cabinets and Prudential Stucco.
Buyer Beware!!!!!!!!!! There are numerous other potential home owners that have been thrown into this mess due to either fraudulent practices or a high degree of incompetency.

New Home Build

Our house is now two weeks away from being complete. While we have been pleased with the workmanship of the trades, we are now experiencing very serious problems with Axiom itself. It appears that the last $75,000 we paid into Axiom in payment of specific trade invoices, have not been disbursed to the trades. We may be in a position of having to pay twice for some invoices - as we must now negotiate the stalling of liens being put on our house because the trades have not been paid. Where is the money? Unfortunately we have not been able to speak with Axiom reps. They have fired both site sup and office rep, closed their offices in Edmonton. They are at this point not answering phone calls. BUYER BEWARE.

New Home

I used axiom to build a home in Edmonton. They gave me a cost projection and told me they would have my house built within 10 months. i shopped around for other builder and no one else came within $80,000 and had fewer upgrades.

Axiom came within $2000 of budgeted price and it took 11 1/2 months to complete the home. I was a little upset that the house took longer than expected, but we had some real cold weather around christmas that delayed things by a month. Overall, a very good experience.
