windows and doors

We saw these windows and doors at a trade show. We liked the weight of them and still do. They are very sturdy and good sound proofing. However, here is what we were and still are disappointed with: the screens are very poor. The squares in the screens let in small insects not to mention the drainage holes in the bottom of the outside and what these let in. The screens are held on by flimsy plastic clips that you have to put on yourself. One simple push and the screen pops out. Not great when you have toddlers or kids around. The screens do not seal tightly to the window frames allowing more insects in. The handles on the windows are constantly coming loose and having to be adjusted. The doors are a very expensive product and they do not come automatically with handles on both sides; it is an extra expense. So if you are outside you have to leave the door handles open if you want to come in and out of those doors. If there is a wind the doors will blow open and have many times. You have to pay extra to have the windows installed unlike most windows that come installed. They have an installer they recommend and he was great but we had to pay him extra. The windows were delivered with the glass panes in place and thankfully the delivery person knew how to take them out as otherwise with no crane available, they are impossible to install due to the weight. Other companies install the frames and then bring the glass. The windows are a bit frustrating in that as the house shifts you have to keep adjusting them so that you can close them but I am not sure if this is different with other windows. At least there is a way to adjust them. We like the way they open and tilt and the quality of them but there are a few things that make them very un-user friendly. Now that our toddler is big enough to open the windows the inability to latch/lock them is becoming a huge problem.

Company Response

Hi Terri, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to post a review and we value your comments. We are happy that you like our products and that the quality, sound proofing and sturdiness of the windows met your expectations. We are very sorry that you were not completely satisfied. With regards to the screens, the mesh we use is standard mesh, and the same used by most everyone in the industry. While the screen clips are made of plastic, they do hold the screens in much more securely than the spring tension fasteners used in most casement systems. The feedback we generally get is that the screens can be a bit difficult to remove if anything, so it is surprising to hear that you are having the opposite experience. However, insect screens are not safety devices, and are not made to prevent people from forcefully pushing them out. In fact, this would be a safety hazard. If you would like more information on readjusting the clips to increase/decrease the screen tension, please contact our Alberta office at 403-786-0001. Thank you! Replace Windows and Doors

We had EuroLine change out 21 windows, two sliding doors for French Doors and an old Cedar Front Door for an insulated Euro Style door. EuroLine has an exceptional produce reducing outside noise, improving heat retention and adds to the appearance of the house.

The Sales Agent we dealt with the delivery staff and the installers were very polite, clean and professional. With EuroLine you do not have to worry about problems in the future and their installation processes are very good. They do not do the usual "kick out the window and slap in the new one" that you see too often from their competitors. EuroLine does a thorough waterproof installation would recommend highly.

Window Upgrades and Replacement

My wife and I had bought an older heritage style home (80+ years old) in 2010.

The house had a mix of original single paned, lead lined windows from the 1930's as well as a few double-paned, wood cased windows that were installed in the early-mid 1980's.

Being on a busy road, and during winter months, we could hear every single noise from the main street as well as see soaring high heating bills.

The wood casing on the windows from the 1980's had rotted and the installation was poorly done (flashing on top of old flashing, compromised structure of install of bigger windows, etc..). On rainy days, typical for Vancouver, we would see water dripping into our living room from the top of the original window.

Wanting to maintain the heritage value of the home, we wanted to update the windows, correct issues, but also wanted to re-introduce newer lead-paneled windows to replace the older single pane lead lined panels.

Based on reviews, research, etc.. we had narrowed down our top 3 vendors for windows to Marvin, Pella, and Euroline. These vendors, and working with Euroline, provide Fiberglass, steel-reinforced windows that were built to last.

During our house-hunting process prior to buying our heritage house, we saw a few houses that had Euroline windows installed, relators praised these windows, and bumping into reputable contractors, they highly recommended this brand as well.

As we started working with each different window company, our research had confirmed that working with Euroline was the best decision for us. The Pella rep even recommended Euroline.

We found that the lead work wouldn't be possible (as no one works with lead windows in North America), however, Euroline had a relationship with a company called Kit's Glass that could accommodate getting the lead work done out of country, having glass assembled in Vancouver, and shipped to Euroline to have them install into their window casings. For windows that we replaced that weren't originally lead lined but were the wooden cased windows from the 80's, we used Euroline glass instead. Marvin and Pella didn't accommodate the need for using Kits Glass windows and/or just didn't provide the option.

Euroline was fantastic, professional, easy to work with (the biggest win for us), and very accurate with their measurements with what was needed.
They gave us pricing breakdowns for all the windows in the house that we wanted replaced as well as a breakdown of labour costs if we used their installer (which we did).

Alex, from EuroServices, and his team performed the install work and they were fantastic. They showed up on time, every day, worked throughout the day, replaced windows, did an awesome job of installing trim, were personable and had a great attitude while onsite.

We've needed to reach out to EuroServices to come back out to adjust a patio door for us and they responded very quickly to address the warranty need. Very happy with this!

We've had a great experience with their product and service! I have no problems with recommending Euroline to any of our friends or family.

Home Renovations

I replaced the 50 year old sliders in th house my husband and I purchased several years ago. The previous owners had replaced half of the houses windows with Euroline product.

The only exposure I had to windows was at Home Depot where I found a 3X3 window for about $200. Of course there is a huge difference between standard windows and custom made windows.

The staff at Euroline were extremely helpful and not pushy as they explained the difference between standard and custom windows.

The window we chose is excellent and every promise made by Euroline was kept. I highly recommend Euroline Windows.

Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Before you initial the final work order, measure the window openings yourself ... just to be sure.

Front upper level windows

To maximize our view of Mount Baker we installed the Euroline windows in our living room. The large panes slant into the room to let in air and the sliding door to the deck glides like a van door or also slants in to the house. The double glazed windows provide UV protection for our furniture while keeping the heat in during the winter and the heat out during the summer. We are very happy with this product.
