Ackard was hired to complete roof work (framing, roof deck, shingles/eaves). Ackard used at least 3 different subcontractors to do the roofing and throughout the entire time those subcontractors were at work, no one from Ackard inspected their work process or their completed work.
So far:
-an eave was found to be nondraining,
-fascia was bent and installed incorrectly,
-and a section of roof was left completely uncovered! - just bare plywood, exposed to the elements with a bird nest under it.
Ackard has refused to explain why such amateur mistakes were made or account for why they were not found and fixed before handing the house back as a finished project.
And now months later after those 3 issues were found, the roof starts leaking.
Without ever physically inspecting the roof that they designed and completed, Ackard has unequivocally dismissed any responsibility for the leaking occurring. This, after I discovered an eave not draining, that fascia was installed incorrectly, and a noticeable section of roof was just plain not done. Ackard claims the leaks in the roof could not possibly be caused by errors made by their subcontractors. The very same subcontractors that messed up in 3 noticeable areas.
And now Ackard will not respond.
Ackard used my house as a guinea pig to vet lousy, cheap subcontractors and now refuses to inspect or address their proven subpar work.
tl;dr Ackard uses subcontractors and does not inspect their substandard work. Ackard will dismiss a leaking roof as "your problem, not theirs" without ever inspecting the roof despite you as a homeowner finding other mistakes - including a section of roof left as uncovered plywood
