Not recommended – very disappointed in business and accounting practices of Gilbert Glass! Despite my numerous requests, this company out-right refused to provide me with a receipt for a glass shower door and installation. They told me to use my banking record of the etransfer as my proof of payment and to hand write on the Invoice “paid”. Very questionable business practices. I etransferred payments for the new door and installation plus 13% HST and requested a final receipt for my records of home improvements on the property. It took them over 10 days and several reminder emails from me to deposit my final etransfer payment, and then they refused to give me a receipt. I will be escalating my concerns to the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and the Canada Revenue Agency (who issues HST numbers to companies). The product and installation were adequate. After 2 days, my glass shower door was scraping the wall tiles and they retightened the door hinges. Hopefully it will last. I have no confidence in this company’s integrity.
