We had Action Furnace into our home to clean our ducts. While the technician was here, he replaced the saddle valve on the humidifier. The replacement valve leaked and caused water damage in our basement, affecting the carpet, underlay, baseboards and drywall.
We asked the company owner for a full refund, which he has not provided. We asked the company owner to replace our carpet and the underlay. He has refused. Instead he provided band-aid fixes, such as blowers and a de-humidifier.
He brought a moisture meter to our house that didn't read carpet, and kept telling us there was no moisture in the carpet. We bought a higher quality moisture meter that reads moisture on carpet, and showed the owner that there were areas of the carpet and drywall that had readings as high as 99% moisture.
Currently we are left with wet carpet and a smelly basement. Today when we tried to ask again for a refund and carpet / underlay replacement, the owner walked out during our conversation. He then phoned us back moments later, and told us he "didn't have to stand there and be punished."
The company has these two attached photos on their website, claiming that they have a property protection guarantee and that it's "fixed right or it's free". Both appear to be untrue.
We haven't been able to use our basement for a month. All we want is a refund and for the carpet and underlay to be replaced.
