We have three skylights that were installed over 15 years ago. One of the units was leaking slightly discolouring the drywall beneath it.
As I was interested in Velux Skylights I contacted them and was put in touch with an authorized Velux installer. A rep was sent out who went up on the roof to examine the units. He reviewed his findings and we discussed the options. I wanted all three units replaced with sealed units rather than units that opened. I wasn't going to continue tempting fate. He left with a signed contract and the job was started within weeks. It took longer for the product since we wanted blinds installed with the skylights to cut the intensity of the sun. The installers came and pretty well worked non-stop (no lunches) and the work was completed in a day. Pretty impressive when you consider how hot it was up on the roof. Very pleasant, hard-working guys that cleaned up everything at the end of the day.
