Skylight that opens remotely, power from solar panel
Its been a year since my installation. My plan was to use a skylight that opens to vent and cool the house at night in spring and fall as we live closeby running water that cools the outside temperature at night. Also, resolved issue with higher temperatures on second floor during summer....no need to add more attic vents. It has worked better than expected...my front hall and even floors are cool by morning. Velux remote is very good...can program a daily cycle. Install wasn't perfect and the unit is louder than expected and squeaks a bit when closing and sealing...not enough to wake you up. The $2K premium to have it open/close is a lot but will pay for itself over time....better than expected results. No BS sales pitch and good honest company.

We have, on occasion, heard customers say that the skylight is a bit noisy during its operation, but most mechanically operated systems with a motor do make some sound.
