We were changing our roof from a solarium to a torch on and required a new gutter to replace the old one. We hired theses guys thinking they knew what they were doing. They don't.
They took full payment before they came which is red flag #1. Then they were a week late. Once they came I saw they installed the new gutter (wrong colour) but saw that they left my original downspout for that part of the house just dangling.
I thought they would come back to hook it up but they didn't. I finally phoned and the man with an accent, (british?) was quite rude on the phone.
I told him that the installer didn't hook up my original downspout to the new gutter. His response was that they didn't have the proper part but more importantly that the installer felt there was sufficient drainage going to the down spout on the other end of the house.
Really. Everywhere I look there's two downspouts per side of the house, including mine before these morons came. The new gutter was installed so that it was a full inch lower than the corner it was attached too.
So water is expected to drain up an inch and then flow all the way to the other downspout 70 feet away I told the guy? His answer was yes, the installer deemed it sufficient.
So, 2/3rd of my roof is now supposed to use one downspout and 1/2 of that is supposed to flow up an inch to reach said downspout 70 feet away.
His rude response was over and over that the installer thought it was sufficient. My response is that installer didn't have the part, and this company was too cheap to return and finish the job. Take some accountability for your mistake and say sorry, we'll be back to finish the job, to the standard building code no less.
I think the reason they take full payment upfront is cause they cut corners and don't do a good job.
This whole job cost me $350 for a 20 foot gutter and a corner bracket. After the first rain, I realized I had no choice. I had to go to Dicks lumber and buy the rest of the parts to attach the new gutter to the original downspout. I could have saved hundreds of dollars by buying the rest of the gutter from dicks and spending the extra 30 mins it would have taken to do what they did.
I would never use this company again and would HIGHLY recommend anyone else to stay far away from them as well.
