When giving the quote, contractor came across as professional. We accepted a few rescheduling of agreed dates to get the work done. Sprinkler system pipe was cut when tree stubs removed. Contractor knew of this issue and did not communicate upon completion of the work. Next morning, we noticed the problem when the sprinkler system came on and reported the issue to the contractor who acknowledged the issue.
I experienced a hostile and character assassination attitude with name calling and refusal to accept responsibility for cost of repair. Hang up on me during the conversations.

I offered to pay if he would confirm that he would have chosen to keep the 5 weed tree stumps in his confined garden bed around his newly paved backyard off Bayview North of Eglinton. He refused to confirm that and refused to accept the risk of having to make an inexpensive repair to the plastic pipe supplying the sprinklers is part and parcel of getting stumps ground out.
Then he kept me on the phone trying to make it 'my fault'.
i got impatient , told him i had to go and asked him to consider my offer to pay for the repair.
i also told him that a man deals straight and that he sounded like a beggar.
He was trying to squeeze, to enforce contract by the letter only and without reason.
Hey, i offered him the money, he didnt want to be reasonable.
If you seek 'victory', don't try with this tree man.
