Quality Renew It

I spoke to Quality renew I asked them to come and strip and re-finish my bath tub. I said that we'd had problems with bad contractors before, and I was assured that they were professional.

They came to acid strip and paint my old tub. When they showed up the guy said "Uhhh, I didn't know we were stripping it"
I said "But you're still going to, right?"
He said "Uhh, yeah. that's not problem, we'll do it"

I left for work and when I came back the tub had not been acid stripped (my fiancee said they started sanding it right after I left). There were chunks of the old paint under the new paint, and there were holes in the new paint where you could see the old product underneath. I was assured that they had put 6 coats of paint on, but somehow they missed the same areas all 6 times. My drain was rusty 2 days after they left where it had never been rusty before.

When I asked the painter why he had not acid stripped it after he looked me in the eye and said he would he told me that the acid chemicals were toxic. At some point he told me he wasn't an untruthful man, but I remembered him saying that he would acid strip my tub and then not doing so immediately after I left him to be "professional".

The company sent me the invoice and still tried to charge me for the acid stripping. When I protested I was told that sanding is still work and that they should be compensated for it.

Now I have new tenants, my tub has chunks of old paint sealed under the new paint, there are holes in the new paint where you can see underneath, they didn't even bother to sand over the terrible touch up areas where we had tried to fix it ourselves, and my tub is rusty. I can't put my tenants out for a several days so the brutally toxic acid and paint job can be done properly (by a different company). Our apartment smelled awful for days, and even though we'd asked for fans to be left on overnight so our baby wasn't exposed to the chemicals, no one remembered (heck, they didn't even know the details of the job I had explicitly told the secretaty.).

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
