Excellent service

Amazing service and excellent quality.. honestly can’t say enough about Sheila’s Drapery ... we had a large order, three floors of windows with our great room automated and couldn’t be happier .. the blinds were excellent quality and the colour was perfectly matched after our in house consultation. Sheila’s drapery not only met us in our house, measured every individual window they even provided us with temporary blinds while the product was on order .. and contacted us several time during the waiting period to make sure everything was working as it should! During install the crew was professional and friendly and walked through every step of setting up the hub and operating the phone app and remote for the automated blinds. The install was done perfectly with our cord operated blinds perfectly spaced. Absolutely excellent service and a great experience overall!

No Customer Service

Bought Hunter Douglas blinds from Sheila's in 2002. Paid a small fortune. The blind fell off the wall, the bracket had not been properly installed in 2002 and with only one screw gave way. When the blind crashed to the floor it broke several pieces which needed replacing. I initially when back to Sheila's and asked how I could get the blind repaired on November 14, 2016. I sent them all the information including original part numbers. I was unable to transport blind to store. After close to a month, and speaking with 3 different people, I am no closer to having my blind repaired. The last person I spoke with said they would look after me. Nobody has followed up, ordered parts, or phoned/emailed me to update me. The blind in question is my front window. I had asked, call you fix the blind, the answer was yes, I should have asked - will you fix it - that answer obviously is NO.

took my money - did not help

I took a blind in to Sheila's with a broken cord.
I was quoted $20 for replacement of the cord.
It was noted that the blind had 'lost it's memory".
When I picked it up, 4 cords had been replaced when
they made it sounds like only 1 was needed.
I found out later from another company that the blind
should have been replaced under lifetime warranty
with Hunter Douglas and that they knew this and could
have told me they would send it in for replacement and
saved me replacing the cords on a blind that was not keeping
it's shape.
Live and learn.
This company could have assisted a customer and earned respect
and loyalty but instead opted to take the $100.

Company Response

Unfortunately the company that you spoke to is not entirely correct in their information. Other than the fact that the honeycomb fabric had lost it's memory this is not an issue that Hunter Douglas would have replaced your blind as it is not a warranty issue. Warranty work if for the original purchaser of the blind and I could have sent the blind back to Hunter Douglas for inspection and repair in Ontario but, as stated in your warranty, you would have been responsible for the costs of getting the blind to Ontario. They would have most likely only recorded it if they would have done any repair work at all. It took me over half an hour to get all the honeycomb pleats back into their proper creases so that the blind could be properly operated. While one cord was broken, the others were so twisted that they the impeded the proper lifting and lowering of the blind. I replaced all the cords and did some other minor repairs in the head rail so that this blind would operate smoothly for you. The reason why the blind is not holding it's shape is because it is not being lifted up into it's fully retracted position at least 20% of the time. By performing this operation you help the polyester fabric that the blind is made of retain it's pleat memory. I explained this when the blind was picked up. All honeycomb blinds and any fabric blinds for that matter should be lifted to the fully retracted position to help retain the fold or pleat memory. By letting the blind hang in the closed position covering your window stretches the fabric and "teaches" it a new position for the folds. The blind you picked up at my store was neat, tidy and compactly pleated and operating in a nice smooth manner which was the opposite to the blind you dropped off. We offer blind repairs merely as a customer service not as a money grab and I fell that I assisted you and resolved your problem in the most cost effective way rather than take advantage. I have worked with Hunter Douglas and been doing blind repairs for years and I am well versed in what would be considered warranty work. I work hard to get Hunter Douglas blind owners looked after whether it be a warranty issue or a simple repair regardless of where they purchased their blinds. Sorry you received some incorrect information and feel like something else could have been done by Hunter Doulgas and us.

window coverings

I recently hired Sheila's Draperies to redo the Hunter Douglas window coverings in our house. We had over thirty windows so it was a fairly large job. They had been originally done about 23 years ago so it was time for a change. From the first phone call to their store when I spoke with Karen I was impressed with her friendliness and willingness to discuss the new options in blinds that were now available. I found the same treatment when Ken came by to measure the windows and give me their estimate. It is apparent that they have been in the business for a long time and are very knowledgeable in all areas. I decided at that first visit that I would have them do the job. In about three weeks they were ready and I have to say that I was also very impressed with the installer. He had to do a minor adjustment to a couple of valances and was very capable in doing that. The whole house has been transformed and I am so happy with the results. I would highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to refer family and friends to them.

Julie thanks for much for the review. It was a pleasure helping you redo your window coverings. I was also glad to give you the advice on operating your door blind when you called with a question yesterday. Do not hesitate to call us if you have any other questions along the way. I will pass your kind words on to both the installer and the designer as well. Thanks again and have a great rest of the summer!

Blinds

Ted came to our house and measured our windows and recommended which blinds and shutters to purchase. We were very impressed with the installation - Chris was very quick and efficient. He explained how to raise and lower the blinds. Overall, we were very impressed with the price and the quality of the blinds and shutters and would highly recommend Sheila's Drapery. In fact, our neighbour has already ordered from them after we told them how happy we were.
