Supply and install a new prehung door and a window replacement
They did not install the door centered or level/squared in the wall opening. They did not use the proper foam insulation or fill the gap properly between the door jamb and wall stud. The foam insulation pushed the jamb into the door and I had to remove the foam insulation to open the door. They did a hack job of installing the latch plate back set. They installed the door handle upside down. They did not remove staples that were in the jamb and damaged the door edge because they were not removed. They did not supply a properly sized brick moulding leaving a large gap between the siding and brick moulding. PLUS, PLUS, PLUS!
The window they supplied and was partially opaque, a smoky blue colour and they thought that was OK. Well it was not!
The door and jamb came from Durabuilt windows and doors. It was not weather stripped properly. Light (therefore air leakage) could be seen at both bottom corners. They did a hack job on the door sweep. The door did not fit properly in the door jamb. The wood jamb was not primed. PLUS, PLUS, PLUS!
Progress Glass would not return to fix the problems. It would have taken over a month from the date of installation to get a Durabuilt service guy to come and try to fix the problems with the door. That was not good enough! I had to demand a meeting with the GM of Durabuilt and confront him with the problems and to demand that my money be refunded and have the door removed from my house and to use his influence with Progress Glass to get this done ASAP!
My money was refunded and the door removed 3 days later. My advice, don’t deal with either of these companies!
