I am writing to you about my extreme disappointment in both products and service at Goeman's.Appliances Here is my story and I warn everyone about shopping at Goeman's Appliances
On August 23 2014 - I purchased an OTR Electrolux microwave at the clearance centre from the KW Goemans store. I was very excited to get this product and was looking forward to using it. We waited one week while it was shipped to the KW store - and then waited another week because it was missing a back plate (to hang the microwave). My husband picked up our product on Sept 6/14 and brought it home. Well it turns out the back plate was for a GE microwave and we had an Electrolux and none of the components aligned so that we could use this back plate to hang our microwave. So we called immediately and the store ordered another back plate. We waited weeks for this back plate to come in. But it never arrived. On Thursday Sept 18 the salesman was very apologetic and suggested that he would exchange the product for a different product. This time we got a Frigidaire professional Microwave. We installed the product on Sunday September 21/14. When I opened the box the back plate was bent and twisted. We called the store immediately and the salesman told us to just to bend it back. So while the back plate was warped we bent it back because we were so desperate and were so happy to finally have a microwave (as we have now gone more than a month without one) and we put food in the microwave and unbelievably the microwave does not work, it does not heat. I could not believe it, we were traded for a broken product. So we called the salesman immediately but he told my husband he could not do a refund today (Sunday) as the store manager was not in and that we would have to bring it back tomorrow, which is now today Monday Sept 22/14.
So around 12 pm today - I receive a call from a nice girl in customer service who wants to arrange for a repair man to come fix my microwave. I must admit I was not happy at all. A repairman for a microwave I never used? I was sold a completely defective product and now I am being forced to repair and keep it? I never used it. I want to return the product. The lady on the phone informed me that was not possible. I was confused and upset. I cannot understand how I can be sold a product that is broken and told I will have to keep it and get it fixed. This is terrible customer service. I asked her to please have her supervisor call me or the store manager and it took 2.5 hours for the store manager to call back. When the store manager called he told me they would not take the product back it has to be repaired. It does not matter the product is broken and NEVER worked they will not take it back.
Imagine how you would feel, I had my husband buy from Goeman's as I believed they were one of the best appliance retailers around. I did not want to buy from another store that's first priority was not appliances, I sincerely regret that decision now. I know the other stores would have taken back a broken appliance that I never got to use.
I just wanted this resolved - I just want a new microwave that works and I am in a fight to get a new working microwave from Goemans.. Had I known I would have this kind of treatment I never would have bought a product from Goeman's Appliances. It truly is buyer beware. Never buy there! They will not honour their product.
