Keith and Todd – Vancouver, BC - February 2020
In 2007 we had the pleasure of working with AM Furniture Finishing. The piece has great monetary value and significant family importance. Andy graciously used his talents. Attention to detail was outstanding with the highest quality craftsmanship.
Years later while moving the piece fell over! In seconds the long hours of artistic magic reversed. The damage screamed for Andy’s love and care once again in 2019.
The solid mahogany hand carved armoire reproduction from circa 1750-1800 is a cherished possession. Repairs included a warped door, panel, mouldings and meticulously reproducing carvings that had broken off. The hardware resembles a more suitable antique style.
Andy suggested finishing the entire piece with a more transparent look to enhance the original grain of the solid mahogany wood and carvings. As it was such an extensive restoration we embraced all guidance, which included finishing the back of the armoire.
This piece will now have an extended life and be enjoyed by many future generations. We would like to thank Andy for the exemplary service he provided and wish him much success in the future.
