Twelve years ago Renato advised me to repair rather than replace my AC unit. I think that says a lot about the integrity of his advice, he could easily have sold me a new unit back then.
This week the compressor finally died. Renato gave the repair an honest shot but this time it was beyond salvage. He came with a replacement on a Saturday, just 3 days after the original call-out.
He took care of the warranty paperwork, installed a new cut-off switch next to the unit outside, replaced the evaporator coil to bring it up to code.

I just don't bother shopping around for HVAC service any more, it's not worth looking elsewhere.
